War #4 - Promoting Your Element

War Propaganda

Each team will have one Propaganda Topic. This topic will be used to tell everyone how awesome your team is compared to all other teams.

Propaganda Topic consists of 3 main parts:

1. War Banner/Flag
2. War Song
3. War speech

Teams that finish all 3 parts (with acceptable quality, approved by Warmasters) before round one starts, will get to pick 12 extra cards in their starting Vault. On top of that, the team with the best Propaganda Topic (chosen by the community) will receive an additional 12 cards, and the team with the 2nd best Propaganda Topic will receive additional 6 cards.

Propaganda Topics should be started by the General, but all team members can produce content. Teams have full control over what their Propaganda Topic looks like. Feel free to use any tables, images, colors, text, etc.

1. War Banner/Flag
War is about killing, but just because you chop your enemy's head off, doesn't mean you shouldn't look good doing so. This is why all 12 elements need a War Banner.

War Banner/Flag is a picture of a banner or a flag that will be attached to the Propaganda Topic of your element. It should show the viewer why your element is the best.

Requirements and restrictions:
- max size 300px x 500px (banner) or  500px x 300px (flag)
- has to be unique (don't simply steal copyrighted images from the web. Here is a good source to get you started: http://www.sxc.hu/ )
- has to have some Elements art, like creatures or icons
- has to be awesome (approved by Warmasters)
- can be done by anyone, even by someone outside the team

So take out the old Photoshop, Illustrator, Paint, etc. and produce the most amazing War Banner/Flag the world has ever seen!

2. War Song
1. Go to http://listen.grooveshark.com/
2. Find a good song that fits your element
3. Use the "EXPORT" function to make your own widget (single song, 150px)
4. Post the embed code on your Propaganda Topic.

In order to get the code working properly, you need to ask Scaredgirl to make an edit to your topic. you cannot do this yourself as it requires html coding permissions. Worst part is that every time you make some edits to your post, you break the code thing again. This is why it's probably best to do this War Song thing last.

3. War Speech
This speech/poem is written by the General. Its purpose is to motivate the team, and make your enemies fear you. Think of it as a speech by Mel Gibson in Braveheart, just before the big battle. There are no restrictions in length or style.

War Speech doesn't have to be an amazing piece of literature, but there are some quality requirement. Simply saying "My element is awesome, we will win!", won't cut it. War Speeches will be approved by Warmasters.

A couple teams have notified us that their General is a fall-down drunk and/or may not have internet access until after the deadline.  If this is the case please have a team member (Lieutenant, preferably,) PM the exact opening post as you want it to be seen for your Propaganda thread.

Warmasters will replace the opening post with what is sent, but please do this as an absolute last resort and make sure it occurs before the deadline.

Congratulations to all 12 teams for completing Propaganda and earning 12 additional cards each!

Vote on which team created the best Propaganda here (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,32080.0.html)!  The top two teams receive a vault boost just before Round 1 deckbuilding begins.

Yes.  All propaganda cards awarded for completion or bonus must appear in the initial vault, and there is only 6ish hours between the poll end and the initial vault building deadline.
