War Song: Through the Fire and Flames

Spoiler for Story - Part 1:

“Halt before the glory of Aether!” the guard screamed. But the man did not seem to listen. He just kept walking forward, approaching the Aetherial Palace.

“Sir, I command you to step back!” the guard yelled out. The man was completely unfazed. He stood right in front of the guard, who was blocking the entrance to the palace.

“If you do not step back, I shall have to kill you.” The guard continued screaming, his orders falling on deaf ears. The strange man lifted up his bright red hand, with scorching flames at his fingertips. He placed his hand on the chest of the guard, who collapsed within seconds.

A second guard appeared and summoned a Phase Spider. The creature charged at the man, but it was immediately killed by a Rage Potion.

“You’re strong,” the second guard said. “Who are you, anyways?” The mysterious man replied with just one word.

“Vengeance.”

He summoned a fiery Crimson Dragon, its wings and claws ablaze. The dragon attacked the guard, who was too weak to defend himself. With both of the guards dead, the man entered the Aetherial Palace.

A few rooms away from the mysterious intruder, the loyal right-hand-man of the Grandmaster rushed into the center room of the palace.

“Grandmaster Deuce, I have urgent news for you!” Hainkarga said.
“Yes, boy, what is it this time?” the Grandmaster replied.
“The Royal Guards! They’re both dead!”
“How can this be? What sort of army could kill them?”
“Not an army, sir. It was a single man.”
“That’s impossible! Why would he want to fight us? What is he after?”

At that instant, the intruder rushed into the center room. He stared deep into the eyes of the old Grandmaster, like a predator tracking its prey. At last, he gave his answer.

“Victory.”

Deuce sat up from his throne and smiled. He drew his Lobotomizer from its sheath and summoned a Dimensional Shield for protection.

“Well then,” the Grandmaster said. “It seems we are at War again.”

Spoiler for Story - Part 2:

The man attacked first, releasing a burst of energy from his palms. The fiery energy struck the Dimensional Shield, causing it to explode in a spectacular eruption. With the Grandmaster’s defenses weakened, the man summoned a Lava Golem to attack. Deuce poked at the Lava Golem with his Lobotomizer, but the creature continued to strike at the Grandmaster.

“You’re more powerful than anyone I’ve ever seen,” Deuce said, as he began to summon a creature. “But before I kill you, I have just one question. What is your name?”

“Vangelios.”

“Ah, the Fire Master,” Deuce replied. “Only a Master could defeat my royal guards. But nobody can defeat me!”

With a loud whoosh, a Phase Dragon shifted into existence and charged towards Vangelios. The Fire Master threw a Fire Bolt at the Phase Dragon, but it shifted into another dimension, dodging the attack completely. The creature returned to existence unharmed, but its Elemental had been injured. The Fire Bolt struck Deuce, whose life began to slowly fade.

As Deuce conjured a second Phase Dragon, Vangelios summoned a Dragon of his own. The Crimson Dragon flew towards Deuce, slashing at the Grandmaster with its piercing claws. While Deuce’s life began to dwindle, his Phase Dragons pummeled Vangelios. It seemed both Masters were at the end of the line.

With his life quickly fading, Vangelios drew out a weapon of pure Fire, known as the Fahrenheit for its intense heat. He dashed towards the Grandmaster and impaled him in a blaze of glory. The body of the old Grandmaster turned to ashes, consumed by an unstoppable flame. The Master of Aether, who reigned over all of the Elements, had finally been slain.

But Vangelios was badly injured. He had to escape before he too would be killed. He used the last of his Fire to summon a Phoenix, which he quickly hopped on top of. The Phoenix lifted itself into the air with its mighty wings. It flew straight into the air, burning through the palace ceiling. Riding on the Phoenix, Vangelios escaped from the Aetherial Palace.

But in his vengeful fury, Hainkarga sent a bolt of Lightning at the Phoenix. It struck the majestic creature, whose life quickly faded away. Vangelios would not be able to make it back to the Valley of Fire. The Phoenix turned to Ash, and the rebellious Fire Master fell from the sky. He did not know where he would land, or if he would even survive.

Spoiler for Story - Part 3:

Vangelios, the Master of Fire, was crashing into through the sky at a dangerously high speed. His Phoenix had been struck with a powerful bolt of lightning cast by Hainkarga, the vengeful second-in-command of the fallen Grandmaster, Deuce. As Vangelios plummeted to the ground, the mystical Ashes from his fallen Phoenix spread across the Elements Graveyard, reviving legendary soldiers 10 men, willng3, and UTAlan.

The last of the Ashes of the now deceased Phoenix landed in front of my own tombstone. The Ashes sank deep into the ground, seeping into my body. With the spirit of Fire, I returned to life and arose from my grave.

“Is it you?” Vangelios asked. “Could it truly be you, RootRanger?”
“The Ashes of the Phoenix have brought me back to life. I thank you for that.”
“You may be alive, but you are not safe. Nobody is. Not anymore. Aether has grown too powerful. They are not content to merely rule over the other 11 Elements. They want to destroy them, too obliterate them out of existence.”
“Who could possibly overthrow Aether?” I asked.
“I do not have much time,” Vangelios said. “It was Deuce...he was too powerful. I am at my end.”
“And what of Deuce?”
“Dead. I killed him. But I couldn’t make it out alive. Root, you must carry on the revolution.”
“But how?” I questioned. “What can I do?”
“Assemble an army of the finest soldiers you can find. Only then can you defeat Aether,” Vangelios said with his last breaths.

And so, I summoned a Photon and cast an Immolation on it. With a loud, piercing sound, a stream of bright fire burst into the sky. A wave of heat passed through the ground, sending a signal throughout the entire land of Elements.

From deep below the Earth arose Mrpaper, a veteran soldier who had fought for many different Elements. From the Palace of Aether came Avenger, who wanted to help overthrow the Element that had mercilessly enslaved him for three wars. From the fields of Battle League arrive Worldwideweb3, whose many victories had made him the new rising star of the game. From the realm of Trials came Zawadx, whose organizer position had fully prepared him for the intricacies of war. Lastly, from the realm of lowercase letters came eljoemo, who fervently insisted that his name was not spelled with a capital “e.”

The team was ready for war. The new reign of Fire would soon begin.

i'm calling deuce "sir" ? and he's calling me "boy" ? not in his most extravagant dreams. i guess you are speaking out of experience but we are not team fire. if you are going to make up stories, make them more plausible.

My new avatar is similar to the old one, but it has certainly never been used before. It was only recently designed, when I had an old friend of mine create a new avatar for me with a Fire theme. Anyways, stay tuned for Part 2!

Mainly because my mind was blown when I saw the old one actually had a face and it made it look really, really creepy. Too creepy. Creeper.

Also, is an insanely active member with 1/2 uppeds in the entire game more useful than a not-very-active member with 6 uppeds every round?

I'm not sure what you mean. As long as you have most of the rares and can play 6 upgrades per game, I'm not concerned with what cards you have. There are much more important factors, such as how much you've achieved in PvP. Activity, of course, is also important.
