Prisoner's Dilemma - Suggestions and Feedback https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=25275.msg322247#msg322247

Now, if you've been looking through my guides, ya'll know that if you are in this event right now, you have no say in this - you can only be in, or out.
If you're fighting, when you're fighting, you cannot complain, or say anything that would ruin the game somehow.
Hold onto those clever thoughts, PM them to a guard who cares (Organisers) or wait till the event has finished to post it here, we don't want to ruin any surprises.

However, if you're one of those rotten hollywood corporations who are sponsoring us to run this, you can look through our initial plans and tell us how to meet your sick needs better. Or one of the people watching, telling them to continue. Yeah, you guys can say anything you want here. How to make it more exciting for the spectators, how to make it more humane for the prisone contestants.

This round hasn't started yet, so any suggestions might make it in already! (Again, please read the reference threads)

While building my decks, I came across one thought, which I couldn't shake off: I hate Trios! wrargh! They are so damn inconsistent. Always missing this quanta or getting only that element. RNG be with me, help me through this troublesome times!

Well, at least my opponent has the same troubles with his random elements xD

But one thing I would really like is, that one is able to build some kind of duo, maybe with a bunch of added restrictions, like: No more than 3 copies of any card (except pillars) if you use a duo instead of a trio. Or: you may only use once a duo during your matchup. (so you can use once a duo and have to use the rest of the matchup your 2 trios)

Actually, the triodeckbuilding is what I like in this event. I forces people to use new decks. Those might be a little less effecient and consistent than the standard grinders, but your opponent will have the same trouble anyways.

I like the trios. It makes it so you have to think on your toes, and get creative when you have something like :aether, :earth, and :death to work with. On the other hand, getting three elements that work great together can give you a great advantage, like :fire, :darkness, and :earth.

I do think that perhaps there is a need for more banned card submissions per person, like maybe four per round. Then again, if you have a bad trio and a lot of good cards are banned in your elements... Perhaps we should wait to see how the rest of the event goes to see if this would improve it or not. Round 1 is not a good indicator of how well things go as a whole, and more rounds would give us a better view on what needs to be changed for the event.

The trios were actually one of the reasons I signed up for this event. I'm still pretty nooby and most PvP Event players are veteran players -- so with fairly restrictive deck-building rules, I thought I might actually have a decent chance!  :P

I hate trios in this current metagame. While I agree that it is interesting to build them, I also think they should get a proper quantum base. Thus, I suggest allowing Quantum Pillars in deckbuilding.

Why is this? A Quantum Pillar produces 1/4th of quantum per type each turn, statistically, and using those may help rounding out the quantum balance, especially if you use creatures with off-elements abilities (that are unusable in the current ruleset).

A little extra question to all participants: What made you join this event in particular?
(Could be anything, from the aggressive chat advertising campaign, to the deckbuilding limitations, to 'I join ALL pvp events')

I joined because
1) Deckbuilding: Building weird trios looked fun.
2) A hopeful reliability that no flakers would join this event: Unfortunately this happened
3) I like joining events: Its true

Just some of the reasons
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

I joined mostly because of the weird trios part. Sometimes it was fun, sometimes it wasn't so much. :D I also loved the idea of the event, so I thought, why not.

Weird deckbuilding rules looked fun!
I didn't have much of a card library at the time I joined -- not enough to participate in most other events -- but I figured I'd be able to keep up with 3 elements a week.
I thought the anonymity might protect me from universal hatred in case I totally sucked  :P
