Sacrificial Fire card, that damages you and the opponent https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=51250.msg1098515#msg1098515

I was thinking, fire doesn't have enough cards, and it's also based around damage, at the expense of defense.

What if fire had a card that made both players' cards pass through shields? Like a momentum card for your sword.

Then if not, how about a card like maybe Sacrificial Fire

-Does 30 damages to you and yourself
-Maybe limited to three per deck
-Costs a lot of fire quanta, maybe 9 or 10 quanta
-Side effect? Like maybe boosts all fire creatures' attack by one?

2. Build Card Images
All card ideas should be built using the Official Elements Card Image Builder by Planplan and Xenocidius. Other tools are of course allowed, but only if the quality is of same high standard. Low quality card images will not be accepted into Crucible and beyond. And when talking about quality, that does not mean the art alone, but the card as a whole. Poor quality images are just as bad as a cluttered text box.

You must:
- use quanta icons where appropriate
- limit the use of text to what could appear in the game
- not use symbols in the text box except quanta icons
- use Font types and sizes appropriate to the card

When adding art to your card, please make sure that you either made the art yourself, have a permission from the artist to use the art, or you used royalty free and/or public domain art (Google the terms for more details). If you are unsure about the ownership and copyright situation of the art you are planning on using, please don't use it. As an example, most images found using Google search are copyrighted and cannot be used without asking a permission first.

I found it 8) The whole thing is over here: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING YOUR CARD IDEA!

So basically, even if you don't have a card art and only a basic idea, it's always better to make it into a card that people can look at.

Thank you!

It's much easier than trying to do bad Ascii art.

I'm worried about the interaction with reflect shields. It's been established previously that damage from Unstable Gas, which is probably the best comparison to this, gets reflected by such a shield, so you could use it to send back the 30 damage that would be dealt to yourself.

Speaking of UG, it costs 6|5 :air and 1 :fire to deal 20 damage after a turn (and takes a turn to set up). I'd say Sacrificial Fire should be balanced with respect to that. On the other hand, if it's a spell card it's going to be really easy to set up an OTK (Fire Bolt+3xSacrificial Fire, using a SoSac chain started a few turns ago to survive the damage? It'd have to be a few turns ago or you won't have enough time to generate enough quanta to pay for everything. Alternatively, Fire/Light stall, playing a Miracle to survive the damage. Light also has aforementioned reflective shield.)

On the shield bypass card, Fire already has several great ways to mitigate the effects of shields (growing damage, spell damage, Deflagration) so that might fit into a different element better.
