Okay, so I have a mechanic in mind but no idea how to implement.
The base idea is that the slots around a creature are taken up and that creature takes a certain amount of damage every turn (to represent constriction).
But I'm unsure of whether or not to make it into a creature (ex: Python with ability Constrict), spell (ex: just Constrict as a spell), or permanent.
For Permanent, I was thinking that upon play, it would take up all the outside slots (like Flooding but only the slots that make up the border of the entire field, so it would be square shaped). Then, if something happens (you use the ability on the permanent or maybe it gets triggered by an event or something, upon play, who knows), the border will shrink to the size of what I mentioned above in the base idea. After the creature dies, the border goes back to the very outside square of the field.
The reason the above would be a permanent is because it would feel awkward as a creature that came in and just took up all the outside slots (although that could work, wouldn't be terribly against the idea).
Anyways, any suggestions or thoughts?
