Hmm. Perhaps, but looks UP compared to immolation. Immolation counts as a first turn huge boost, while this seems like it'd only be useful later on in the game, when bone walls, bone yards, and vultures have already popped up. The free cost would also mess with the mulligan and appear in early game. That said, I don't think 3 death effects (I may be wrong) can compare with 8 :fire +1 of every other quanta.

Another idea I just had would perhaps to give a creature the dead and alive skill, so it can continuously activate death effects (though this may tread on cat)

Instant death triggers and instant creature control aren't present in on-element Death cards for a good reason. Many Death cards benefit from the death trigger, and their effects are stackable. Sure, it's fine for the early game, but once you hit mid-game and can activate multiple cards' abilities with a single death trigger, it easily snowballs out of control. This is also why Aether's creatures are either immaterial, fragile, or hard to cast (thanks to creature-enablers like Fractal and Parallel Universe).
