Picture: Desert
Ability: Generate 3 Sand Dune in your opponent's permanent field.











Basically, Like malignant cell, it fills up your opponent's field.
If the permanent field is full, It does Nothing.

Whn I saw the title, I though :earth or :time. Didn't expect :darkness.
My 3 game-modification principles:
1. If it ain't broke, don't wreck it.
2. Simple fixes for simple problems.
3. Remember to fill in the holes.

Agreed about the element, but like the concept.  (Or just come up with a different theme for the same mechanic if you want it to be dark.)

Problem is, permanent slots are much less important than creature slots. How many permanent slots do people usually use anyways? (2-3 for quanta generation sources, 1-2 other slots, 2 for weapon and shield..) There are a total of 19 permaslots. It's very unlikely that you'll clog them up, and the price  3 :earth for 3 perma clog is really UP. Permaslots aren't even that valuable.

You can get almost all of the 6 Deserts in your starting hand. Maybe 1 or 2 in 30 Cards Deck.
So, If your opponent already placed permanent, when you draw Deserts in the middle or last of the game, The field will be already full.

Okay, you are right. 4-5 deserts can probably guarantee a perm lock down. Only problem is, what's the point? You just spent around 2 elite shrieker's worth of quanta just for perm lock down? Permanents (besides the first few, such as pillars and equpitment) aren't that important, although I do see this have as comboing with EQ. In short: too expensive and slow.

I posted this before and its a really nice counter to rainbows that use a lot of permanents and to Time decks especially. blocking hourglasses or Empathic bonds, keeping graveyards and spirit catchers out of play is a good thing. It should be cheap, but I think all in all it is a nice soft counter to permanents. They should be able to be destroyed.
