I am not starting a new page for two reasons. All of the cards that I come up with raw ideas for are going to be part of a set, and I want to keep all of my ideas in a single thread so I don't lose my own card.
The series is going to be all Darkness cards, and the name of the series will be Dark Intentions. The cards will have a somewhat evil, malicious theme, and each have an interesting (I hope) new (I hope) mechanic.
The problem is that I am terrible at balancing, and I know that there are tons of balancing geniuses here that can help me tweak my ideas to perfection.
Hatred | Loathing -- Notes are in the Smithy page right now.
Purpose - Creature control, somewhat obvious.
Demonic Covenant | Demonic Pact
Prevents decking out and gives you a minor quanta boost, but in exchange for your health.
This is the idea that I need to work on still before I can begin to make my series. I made a card to start from out of the idea beforehand, simply because I can't stand starting from scratch and I found a picture already.
Betrayal | Duplicity
Potentially high damage creature.
Notes:
This card deals damage equal to the total of all enemy creatures' damage, divided by either 4 or 3. If that value is less than 2 (3 for Duplicity), then it deals 2 or 3 damage, respectively, instead.
Enemy creatures' damage is simply the total of the damage shown in the creature's statistics. If you have a (normal stats) Betrayal, and your enemy has a 12|12 Golden Dragon and a 4|6 Cockatrice for a total of 16 enemy creature attack power, Betrayal's attack power is 4, regardless of any shields or effects. Adrenaline is not taken into account for calculating Betrayal's damage. Creatures with Antimatter lower the total damage, but Betrayal will not have a negative attack if the total enemy creature damage is negaitve; it will have 2 attack.
If Betrayal gets a buff to attack, the X is replaced with X+(attack buff value), and it deals one-fourth of the enemy creature damage plus the amount that it was buffed for.
If Antimatter is used on Betrayal, it has no effect if Betrayal's damage is X. However, it will affect any buffs used on Betrayal. For instance, using Antimatter on a X+3|13 Betrayal will cause it's attack to change to X-3|13, and it will deal its regular damage minus three.
This card also needs to be balanced -- the problem I am having is that it is either extremely powerful or nearly nonexistent, depending on the situation. My first attempt was extremely underpowered, in my opinion (I had Betrayal dealing enemy damage divided by five, minimum of one attack, and Duplicity dealing enemy attack divided by four, minimum of three attack.)
Glare : Halve the target creature's attack (rounded down) and double its skill cost.
