I am working on designing cards for the "Blood" series I am working on.
The idea is to use "Blood" as a means of storing / converting player HP into a resource for cards.

These are some ideas I have right now. Any feedback on balance, etc. is welcome. As cards get made, I will put in links to the smithy topics.
Feel free to suggest your own, or better take the Blood mechanic idea and run with it. (Just make sure to credit EmeraldTiger for his mark artwork)
So far I have only gotten to making the first two (a pillar and a nova like permanent) to get the topic rolling

I'm surprised that blood can't be a :life element.
Also, you may want to implement it ichor, the blood of the gods, which would be :aether.

... Interesting... though when I hear "Ichor" I tend to think of something a little more vial and pure evil / toxic / vile than blood... Then again, the idea of powering spells and abilities with a player / elementals blood isn't fairly dark itself.
It might make a good card...

Just a question. How is mechanic for storing :blood?
Is it in a pool or is it stored in individual cards? Because i'm confused by the wording.

It wouldn't be evil. Ichor is the blood of the gods themselves, it is celestial.
Classical Mythology . an ethereal fluid flowing in the veins of the gods.
Pathology . an acrid, watery discharge, as from an ulcer or wound.
I think it would work.

It is stored on cards, like a counter. No new quanta pool is used, it just simplified card wording and unified the theme to have a symbol to use for the counters.
I go into more of the details on the Blood Pillar card. Those notes will be added to the series post once I get enough cards made.

I personally would relate blood as a :death element.
It also is quite contradictory "Sanguine Vice". Vice is a bad trait whereas sanguine means friendly, at least according to the humoral theory.

Well, this is just my opinion. I normally associate vice as a bad trait rather than a clamp and sanguine as friendliness.

Yes, sanguine is ASSOCIATED to blood, not IS. It's just my view, so don't take it too deeply. Sanguine is associated with friendliness due to humoural theory. An excess of blood denotes a the person as 'sanguine' aka friendliness and optimism.

BTW, blood could also be related to :life, since blood is the fluid of life obviously.

Under this definition Sanguine sounds more Green / Red / White | :life / :fire / :light in MTG/ETG respectively. I would expect blood to give more Black | :darkness :death tones even when in other elements. ( :fire as a relevant third could also be possible with bloodlust/beserker tendencies)

blood-red; red.
though so it still fits in context.
You may want to consider a 'heart' motif for the blood cards, or even blood vessels depending on how far you want to go in terms of theme.

It would be better if the symbol was related to blood rather than rears. Some heart symbols are related to the latter.

Hmm... could be fun. I was thinking of making a "Mosiquito" that worked similar... but as a weapon it will be less prone to fractal abuse, so that might work out better. I'll start in on it once first brawl submission deadline is done... gonna be busy till then.
