Upped War? Is it possible?

To be honest, I don't see why it's not possible. I think people hear the words "upped" and "WAR" and have a negative kneejerk reaction. If 60-70 people signup for the event I guess the question is "why not?"

Provided you are willing to run it yourself and don't expect the current TOs to help (they're busy enough with regular War!), I think it's an excellent idea.

I think it'd be fun and increase more strategic options compared to the unupped War.  Another option for how many upgraded cards we play is for everyone to be able to use upgraded cards for all non-pillar/pendulum cards; Gen/Lt. also get to up a certain % of their pillar/pendulums.  I imagine most people up key non-pillar cards before they go and start upping a bunch of pillars/pendulums.

Also, how many do you think is the bare minimum for this kind of event to happen?  I wonder would 48 be enough?

I think it's a good idea, but it should be totally separate from the regular War. The reason why regular War is unupped, is that this way it's more accessible to most community members. We don't want to go back in time to when PvP tournaments were all upgraded, and the same 12-15 veteran players fought in all the tournaments, leaving everyone else outside.

Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing as well. Otherwise people with a handful of upped cards might join just for fun, and the whole event would be unbalanced.

Well, I suppose the easiest way would be to look at current war teams, now many from each team could participate. Since I'm on team earth, I'll use them as an example.

Terroking: I'm sure he has plenty of upped cards.
Demagog: Again, I'd be surprised if he doesn't have enough.
Coinich: As a previous master, I would, again, assume he has enough.
Legit: Well, his forum account doesn't have a mega-amount of posts, but if Pervepic is anything to go by, that doesn't mean much. I really have no idea.
$$$man: Well, I think he would have more than enough if he hadn't been banned so many times....(you should really quit that, $$$man), so I guess it just depends on the specific day.

I think I can speak for dreggs, Timer, and Sky when I say we are a ways away, yet. I guess it just depends on if you do decide to make fully upped a requirement.

i think it could work fully upped and though it may deter many, many people from joining, this is just to see how each element would fare with no restriction to upgrades
and assuming most Trials participants (past and future) will at least have most of their element upped, 4-man team could work
this feels more like an event rather than a war though, in fact it should be an epic event, the epic-est of all no doubt

I can fill part of that in for you. 

I have 226 upped cards, 30 of which are "other", and only a handful of the remainder are pillars.  I have so few complete upped card sets I could list all of them 5 or over, like so:

12 Quantum Pillar
6 hourglass
6 steal
6 miracle
6 steel golem
6 granite skin
6 supernova
6 SoG
6 SoR
6 SoD
5 animate weapon
5 cremation
5 minor phoenix
5 water tower

That's what the top part of 226 upped cards looks like, everything else is 4 or less.  You could double the upped I have before it gets interesting unless it was very focussed. 

If you did like 6 or 12 cards, I might be viable, if you're talking whole decks, pillars included, no chance.  If you do go fully upped, I'd suggest that 100 upped cards is probably way too low a requirement.  I'd guess most people's first 60 cards  are probably a farm deck or two and a pile of shards.

If a certain amount is insufficient, a different amount will have to be chosen.
Though it's just about the general idea, the exact details can be worked out later, should it be proven viable.

Euuurgh.  Despite the fact that I've been here since before the forums, I only have around 50 or 60 upgraded cards, enough for CCYB and one private deck to slaughter all who oppose me.  If it replaces the current War, even once, no.  As an alternate event, well I'd be interested for some emergancy grindage...
