WHO CAN PLAYAnyone with a forum and a chat account is eligible. Sign up by posting on the separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic or if it is locked, this event is not currently active and you will have to wait for it to restart.
BRACKETS AND DUELSA Dish Served Cold will be a double-elimination event with best-of-three matches. Three days will be given per round but matches can be played as soon as one’s opponent is known. If the fight doesn't happen both players lose by default unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was and his or her word is final. It's a good idea to either record the matches or take screenshots in case something weird like a desync error happens. Players are subject to the
PvP Parasite Warning System and a player who gets caught cheating will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events.
Players build one unupgraded deck to start. This deck is important because the player will use a variant of that deck until he loses.
AFTER DUELSAfter your first win create a thread with your forum name as the title. Post the deck you used.
After subsequent wins no action is necessary.
After a loss (important: EITHER loss) post in the thread of the player who beat you. Repost that player’s deck, changing up to three cards according to the following rules:
- Total number of cards will stay the same.
- You may edit the number of existing cards in the deck from 0-6.
- You may not add cards that aren’t currently in the deck (e.g. adding three “Floods” in a mono-Earth).
- You may not add back cards that were originally in the deck but removed by a player during a previous round.
Spoiler for Example:
Suppose you lose the first round to the following deck:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vh 4vh 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 52q 52q 55q 55q 590 590 590 590 590 5c1 5c1 5f6 5f6 5i7 5og 5og 61q 61q
You could force your opponent to play his next opponent with -3 Novas, +3 Fog Shields, or -2 Deflagrations, -1 Momentum, and +3 Quantum Pillars, etc.
FORFEITS AND OTHER FAILURESIf a losing player does not post a change to his opponent’s deck for whatever reason, the Event Organizer will randomize among eligible options one card to add three copies and one card to remove three copies, and will post the change.
DO NOT EDIT when you post your deck or change your opponent’s deck. Doing so may result in removal from the event.
The Event Organizer may remove players from the event due to lack of participation.
WINNING AND REWARDSPlayers are awarded one point for each win, two points if changing your opponent’s deck causes him to lose in the following round, and four points if changing your opponent’s deck causes him to lose in the following two rounds. This means a total of six revenge points are possible, four when you get bumped from the winner’s bracket and two when you get bumped from the loser’s bracket. The player with the most points wins.
The reward will be a forum award icon
and the respect and admiration of your peers.
Feedback is appreciated.
