??? Compete against other parties, battling past NPCs, in a race to the labyrinth’s golden prize in this pseudo-RPG.
OVERVIEW- Each party contains a Warrior, a Cleric, a Wizard, and a Rogue and navigates its own maze.
- A turn lasts three days. During the turn each party moves about their maze until they encounter a monster. As a party they select one player to fight the monster. Win or lose, the turn is ended.
- If the previous turn was a loss the party may select another (or the same) player to fight again or may try a different path if available.
- If the previous turn was a win the party collects loot and experience and is one step closer to the labyrinth’s golden prize.
WHO CAN PLAY/REGISTRATIONAnyone with a forum account is eligible. Sign up by posting on the separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic or if it is locked, this event is not currently active and you will have to wait for it to restart.

SECRET FORUM SECTIONEach party has their secret forum section only visible to party members, the Organizer, and forum Administrators. Players use this section to communicate with teammates and the Organizer. This section also includes character sheets (containing the list of allowable cards for each character) and a dungeon map (a Google doc updated each turn by the Organizer). Each party’s successes and failures will be updated on a public scoreboard each round.

The player doing battle creates a deck using the starting card pool, acquired loot, any number of pillars and pendulums, any mark cards, and any mark. Note that a player may only use as many copies of a card as he owns (i.e. a starting Rogue may only use one copy of Short Sword during deckbuilding). Cards are not transferable between teammates.
The number of upgrades allowed during deckbuilding is equal to the party’s experience points (number of monsters defeated). Cards are upgraded during deckbuilding and after battle return to your card pool unupgraded.
Important! The “card pool” doesn't really exist. Players are not given cards they take from the card pool, nor are any cards removed from their account if they lose. Players must own the cards on their Elements game account in order to use them. If a player doesn't have a specific card in his/her account, he/she cannot use it even if that card is listed in the card pool.
DUELSThe player should schedule a time to play a best-of-three match versus the Organizer. You may not switch decks between games. The next round will begin regardless of whether your match gets done. The Organizer will make himself available for long periods of time during the round and will easily be found in chat, so the burden falls upon you to get the match done in time. The Organizer may choose to appoint a sub for himself for all or part of any round.
Players may not sub for one another; each player must play his own character and use only his own card pool. At the party’s request the Organizer will remove players from the event due to lack of participation and replace them with alternate players. Replacements are permanent and occur the round following the party’s request.
A player who gets caught cheating will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events.
AFTER DUELSIf the party defeats a monster, the Organizer will create a post entailing any loot that was dropped. All monsters drop loot and loot is not random.
Following the battle, the party’s leader (the Warrior unless the party specifies otherwise) must post the following decisions:
1) The distribution of loot, if any.
2) Which direction the party is going next.
3) If the next monster is known, who will face it.
Progress will be marked on a map by the Organizer (embedded Google doc file).
Spoiler for Sample turn:
Having just defeated a monster, the party earned loot:
6 Arctic Squid
3 Gravity Pull
2 Photon
1 Virus
The party’s Wizard wants the 6 Arctic Squid but doesn’t have the cards in the game and so can’t make use of them. The party ultimately decides to give 4 Arctic Squid and 3 Gravity Pull to the Warrior, 2 Arctic Squid and 2 Photon to the Cleric, and the Virus to the Rogue. Players update their character sheets accordingly.
Checking the map, the party can continue its current path or double back and try an unexplored passage. The party elects to move forward.
The Warrior creates a post in the secret section that says:
Warrior: +4 Arctic Squid, +3 Gravity Pull
Cleric: +2 Arctic Squid, +2 Photon
Rogue: +1 Virus
Continue down current path
The Organizer updates the map and informs the party they’ve encountered a Minotaur. The party guesses the Minotaur’s deck is ragepot-centric and chooses the Warrior to face the Minotaur. The Warrior builds a deck containing high hit point creatures, but the Minotaur’s deck contains faster, low-health creatures and the Warrior fails to defeat the Minotaur this round.
WINNING AND REWARDSEvery party member takes part in the final battle, so it's critical to have a well balanced party. Each member of the winning party discovers a golden treasure, an artifact rumored to be of great magical power (and looks sorta like a forum award icon:
).
