Cabal Secrets - Rules
Original idea by: The_Mormegil   |   Developed by: The_Mormegil   |   Art by: ??#4   |   Organized by: ??#5

Using a mix of cunning strategy and direct confrontation, players fight to determine the hierarchy of the Cabal.

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

In your application, you must include your Element Speciality (one of the 12 elements). Only two players may have the same speciality; if a speciality was chosen twice before your application, you shall choose a different one. First come first served.

Maximum amount of participants for this event is 24. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during round 1.

2. GETTING READY
Read the rules thoroughly. This is a complex event, as climbing the ladder inside the Cabal requires more brains than brawns.
At the start of the event, you have 5 Favor Points. The player with the most Favor Points at the end of the event is the winner.
Each day, decide what your action will be and post it on the Main Thread. If you want to challenge another Cabalist, prepare your decks following the subsequent rules:
- You may use any number of unupgraded cards, and a number of upgraded cards equal to your Favor Points.
- You shall use at least 50% cards of your speciality.
- You cannot use the Forbidden Cards.

2.5 TURNS AND ACTIONS
Each turn lasts one day from the start of the event to the finish. Every turn each player has the right to do an action from the following list: to do so, he must post on the Main Thread. Failure to do so results in losing a turn. It is worth noting that each player starts with 5 Favor Points
- Vote: you may choose a votation and express your vote. This consumes an action. If you currently are the Leader of the Cabal (the player who has the most Favor Points), your vote counts as triple.
- Forbid a Card: you may call a votation on a card. If the votation is successful, the card is added to the Forbidden Cards' list. The votation runs for three days.
- Challenge to Honorable Duel: you may have a match with another player. The one who wins, gains half of the Favor Points of his opponent (who loses an equal amount). You may challenge another player in such a way only once per week. You cannot challenge the current Leader of the Cabal (the player who has the most Favor Points) this way. Additionally, if you use at least 6 cards of one of the following elements (excluding your Speciality), you gain 1 more Favor Point upon winning:  :darkness  :death  :entropy  :fire  :time
- Offer Favor: you may give part of your Favor Points to another player.
- Question Leadership: you may challenge the current Leader of the Cabal (the player who has the most Favor Points). If you win, you gain half of the Favor Points of your opponent. If you lose, you are sacrificed to the Lord of the Abyss.
- Call for a Sacrifice: this action can only be taken by the current Leader of the Cabal. You may call for a votation (which lasts three days) on a player. If the votation is successful, that player is sacrificed to the Lord of the Abyss.
- Self Sacrifice: you can offer yourself to the Lord of the Abyss. If you die in this way and cause the Lord to be summoned, you may still be elected as a winner if you have at least 10 Favor Points more than any other player.

Furthermore, at the end of each week the player which has the less Favor Points is sacrificed to the Lord of the Abyss as a punishment.
If in any moment the Lord of the Abyss has received 12 sacrifices, it is summoned to this world and the event ends.

3. DUELS
Players have 7 days to make the fight happen after one of the players has been challenged. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose half their Favor Points, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.

Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual duels, wins the match.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.

4. AFTER DUELS
Winner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of all their decks.

5. WINNER
The player with the most Favor Points when the Lord of the Abyss is finally summoned is the winner of the event.

6. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:

My first thought is that the event might be way too long.  15 sacrifices could take 15 weeks, which means an event that can run for almost 4 months.
Carpe Diem!!

Well, it might. But that would mean that:
1) The leader is never challanged OR never wins. Considering the upped advantage, it is unlikely.
2) The leader never proposes a Sacrifice, or people vote it down continuously.

Since when you are a Leader you want to dispose of dangerous opponents, and the other players will probably help you and vote to kill potential rivals, this is highly unlikely. Also, if you are in a bad position, challanging the Leader may be a risky way to gain Favor Points.

I suppose 12 sacrifices would work well, though. About two months long, if I had to say a number.
