RNG's Heir: #1 - Rules
Original idea by: Discord   |   Developed by: mathman101, majofa and Discord   |  Organized by: Discord

Using up to 10 upgraded cards, players build a deck of any size and a backup collection of 5 cards. Cards from the sideboard can be used between duels to alter your deck. This is a double-elimination style tournament.

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

Maximum amount of participants for this event is 16. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 20 players doesn't show up during round 1.

2. GETTING READY
Build a deck of any size (from 30 to 60 cards), and build a backup collection of exactly 5 cards.
- You may use any non-upgraded cards in the game.
- You may also use up to 10 upgraded cards. These upgraded cards can be in either your deck or your backup collection, or distributed between them both.
- The cards you choose to upgrade can be changed throughout the whole event. You will be able to change which cards are upgraded.
- Rainbows are recommended, seeing as this PVP event relies on luck.
- Shards are allowed
- I list of 20 cards will be provided each round, with a min of 4 creatures. All players must use this list.

3. BRACKETS
This event is a double-elimination style tournament and uses two kinds of brackets: winners brackets and losers brackets. Everyone starts out in the winners brackets. When you lose the first time, you will drop down to the losers bracket. When you lose the second time, you will be eliminated from the event. The final match will be between the winner of winners brackets, and the winner of losers brackets.

In short, if you lose two times, you are out. If you don't lose two times, you win.

4. DUELS
Players have 7 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.

Matches are best-of-three. The first player who wins 2 individual duels, wins the match.

You are allowed to change your deck (and mark) by swapping cards between your deck and backup collection on a 1-for-1 basis at any time but you only have 5 minutes to do so. If it takes you longer than 5 minutes, it is considered a forfeit and the other player goes to next round.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair. Remember, decks and backup collections may be arranged however you please at any time, as long as your backup collection always contains the required 5 cards. If you start the event with 34 cards and a sideboard of 5 cards, your deck must always have that same 34 cards.

5. AFTER DUELS
Winner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post  both their decks and their sideboards. After round 1, all decks and sideboards from all players are 100% visible to everyone. This means that starting from round 2, you will know what cards your opponent has available, and you should plan your strategy accordingly.

6. WINNER
Winner of the RNG's Heir is the winner of the event.

7. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:

Feedback is welcome.

The title is a bit curious to me. Also, 3 minutes to alter deck is kinda short, IMO. I think BL offers a longer time inbetween matches to swap decks.

There don't appear to be any restrictions on the deck type used - what incentive is there to use a rainbow deck over a mono or duo, for those who would prefer not to do so?

Are shards allowed? Are there any banned cards at all, or is the event completely unrestricted?

The title seems to suggest that some aspect of the deck is randomized, really o.O

Also, really, three minutes? In case of BL, ppl usually have several pre-prepared decks on their medium of choice (at least I do, since I cram all my decks in a single txt file). Is three minutes really enough to replace card from the sideboard? I personally think five won't do without resorting to pre-prepared variations (but then again, I'm a total n00b).

This would be based on luck.

The title is a bit curious to me.
I think it's because the rules of the event were randomly generated.
Somehow still around, somewhat
