N/A Make and enforce rules, and try to get the required number of wins while avoiding the penalties of the player-submitted rules. Based on the card game Mao.
1. HOW TO SIGN UP?Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.
Maximum amount of participants for this event is
32. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during round 1.
2. MAKING AND ENFORCING THE RULESThere are intentionally few rules to this game, because the players make them. At the beginning of the tournament, each participant submits a rule to be incorporated to the game. The tournament organizer can make his/her own rules. The tournament organizer can also strike down a rule without warning for any reason. Rules must be submitted with no more than 3-win penalties.
If you figure out a rule, and you are positive it exists, you can go ahead and enforce it. If a person is caught breaking one of the player- or organizer-submitted rules, they will take a penalty of needing 3 more wins unless the penalty defined by the rule is greater. If you accuse a person of breaking a rule, and they in fact did not break a rule, you take a 5-win penalty instead.
You can submit multiple accusations against the same person. The person takes a 3 win penalty for the highest number of accusations by a person or their number of rule breaks, whichever is higher. If you submit more accusations that they broke rules, you take the penalty for every extra accusation you make.
It is the players’ own job to figure out the player-submitted rules, as they are not posted and the players are forbidden from sharing them.
2. DECKBUILDINGBuild a deck of any size (from 30 to 60 cards), and build a sideboard of any number of cards.- You may use any cards in the game.
- The cards you choose to upgrade can be changed to unupgraded cards, and vice versa.
3. TOURNAMENT SYSTEMThis person uses a special tournament system. Each round, each person is randomly matched with another person, matching every person whether possible. This matching continues until a person wins the tournament.
The tournament system cannot be changed by player-submitted rules.
4. DUELSPlayers have 3 days to make the fight happen (by default). They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose all 3 games by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, what they get, and his or her word is final.
Matches are 3 games each. Each individual win counts.
You are allowed to change your deck (and mark) by putting cards into the sideboard or putting cards in your deck from the sideboard at any time but you only have 3 minutes to do so (by default). If it takes you longer than the time allowed, it is considered a forfeit and the other player claims all remaining wins.
It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens.
Remember, a player who gets caught cheating (not just breaking the submitted rules) in this tournament, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.
5. AFTER DUELSWinner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went.
Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks and their sideboards. After round 1, all decks and sideboards from all players are 100% visible to everyone. This means that starting from round 2, you will know what cards your opponent has available, and you should plan your strategy accordingly.
Accusations of rule-breaking must be submitted before the battle result post is submitted. The organizer will edit the post with win penalties resulting from the game after the post is submitted.
Players who win all 3 games against their opponent may submit another rule or increase the penalty of a rule by 3 wins (if the rule doesn’t exist, the boost is wasted). Players who win 2 games against their opponent can boost the penalty of a rule by 1 win.
If a player is sure that they won the tournament, he/she must post “Mao” to win. If player announces “Mao” at any other time or forgets to announce a win, he/she take a 10-win penalty instead.
Remember, decks and sideboards may be arranged however you please at any time, unless the rules affect this.
6. WINNERThe first player to win ten games and declare “Mao” when they win the required games is the winner of the event.
7. REWARDSThe winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:
