Four Square - Rules

Players battle three others at once in a square, under limited elemental restrictions, with the top two in each square moving to the next round.
1. SIGNING UPAnyone with a forum account can sign up for this event. First, read the rules very carefully.
Then read them again. Once you’ve done that, sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. On your sign-up post, you need to include your in-game name.
If you cannot find a sign up topic, or you find one that’s locked, this event is not currently active and you will have to wait for it to restart.
The maximum amount of participants for this event is
32. If the event is full, you may sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if players become inactive or retire from the event.
2. PREPARATIONEvery round, the players remaining will be sorted in groups of four. Groups will be assigned a starter, which will be randomized in the first round and in further rounds will be based on player’s points.
Each group of four will be placed onto a different board, which will have a thread. The 12 elements will be randomized and placed in 12 lines on the board, forming one square divided into four quadrants. The players will be placed in different quadrants.
All quadrants have four elements surrounding them. The player in a quadrant can only use those four elements, and up to 4 neutral cards. The decks can be any size and can have up to 4 upgraded cards.
3. DUELINGAt the beginning of every round, the player assigned to be the starter will have control. He will post on the thread the player he wishes to ’bounce the ball’ to, or duel. They will then have to arrange a match as soon as possible.
If the duel doesn't happen quickly enough, the ball will be given to the receiving player, and no points will be awarded.
If the match does happen, the players will have two duels, following their deckbuilding rules. Players may change their decks and marks during and between matches. The results need to be posted on the thread, but the decks do not.
When the throwing player loses 0-2, he will lose one point for a bad throw, move to the fourth quadrant, and the other players will move up as needed.
When the players tie at 1-1, they will each gain 1 point for a fair throw and catch, and all players will stay where they are.
When the throwing player wins 2-0, he will gain two points for a good throw, the receiving player will move to the fourth quadrant, and the other players will move up as needed.
In all cases the receiving player gains control of the ball, and the process repeats, with the addition that a player in control cannot throw the ball to the player who gave him control.
Please either record the matches or take screenshots often, in case something weird, such as a desynch error, occurs. Players who get caught cheating will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.
4. AFTER ROUNDSAll rounds will last a certain amount of days. After the round is over, points will be tallied up. Players that finish in the fourth quadrant will be given 1 extra point, finishing in the third quadrant gives 2 extra points, and so on.
The top two in each group will be sorted in the next round’s groups, while the other two are eliminated. If there is a tie for second, players will be judged on their head to head performance.
The players will then be sorted into new groups with new elements in their squares for the next round, and this repeats, until the final group of four is finished. The two players with the highest score in the final group will then throw the ball only at each other until one player wins 2-0.
The final winner will receive a fancy award icon, and hopefully mad props.
