How many people can join?
Is this simple elimination, double elimination, round robin, swiss etc.?
How do you win the event? ( if not explained in the previous question)

I... I don't know. I suppose I'm envisioning it just like CotO.

3-0 = +4
3-1 = +3
3-2 = +2
0-0 = +1
2-3 = -1
1-3 = -2
0-3 = -3

With the first to so many points being the winner. Heck, 18 sounds like a good number. But it PvPO's think this would be better suited to a tournament style format, so be it. I'm just putting forth an idea where the rules are pretty much up for discussion.

flesh out the idea to make it event worthy (and beautify it please)
particularly inbetween games deckbuilding phase (probably the biggest issue here)
i am partial to NOT speedbuilding myself, that seems more tournament-ish but i dislike long drawn out event so you either need to shortened it to Best Of 3 (time interval for rounds stays at 4 days @ 4d/round)
OR
use 7d/round and BO5 but using swiss system and event stops at R8 (2 months at most) with the biggest point gainer will be  declared the winner

also, i would like you to take some measure so that the decks wont be 'typical' / predictable as in someone posted a successful 50% Earth deck and everyone else after that who are forced to use 50% Earth copied and uses the same deck (or they can just plow through war archive and search for 50% Earth deck that are successful against majority of the field)
my suggestion is banning usage i.e. each player may ban 1 card (after the first game of course) and his/her opponent are not allowed to use that card in the next game

Well, I think that:
1) Speedbuilding is part of this event's idea. Also, you can prepare 12 decks and play them out when needed. Not to mention you could possibly plan 144 decks based on each possible combination and play them out when needed.
2) Best of 5 >> Best of 3, mainly because it is more skill-based and this is a very skill oriented event.
3) I agree it could become an issue, but as always, you can plan for that. You could also add a banning rule of some sort to make the event even MORE centered on deckbuilding prowess, but that could considerably slow down things and mess the ruling up.

Hmmm... I suppose I'll get on beautifying it now, lol. Lots of possitive feedback.

So... I have no idea how to do the scoring. Kobi's suggestion seems to be the best atm. But I want it to be a Best of 5. Otherwise the main point of the idea could play a minimal role.

And about 1 deck becoming too powerful, that's part of the strategy. Using marks that you wouldn't normally use to make your opponents have weaker decks. I don't see it becoming too much of an issue, but I suppose it's something to keep in mind. If it DOES become a problem, maybe we could tweak the rules a bit.

So anyway... prepare yourself for beautification! (when I get around to it that is...)

I like the idea, it being a good way to promote open mindedness to the elements.  Going to be a little annoying though with so many decks, as if my notepad file wasn't stuffed enough.
