You're making it too complex SG
is making a war-like event but with upped cards not interesting enough?
i dont think anyone find it boring that it bears close resemblance to the actual war
after all, this is kinda like a tribute to the grand event that is war

why do we need all this master vault and marks act like life points?
i know these are just ideas but i'd rather keep it simple
work out the kinks doing this all upped because there might be some that might've slipped by
no need to make it complicated even before making a test run
Being different doesn't equal being complicated. What I suggest is actually less complicated than regular War because there are no separate 13 Vaults, no having to post decks in advance, and no concepts like discarding and salvaging. If fact, the whole event could be run without any kind of secret section at all.

And yes, I do think that Upped War might become boring if the rules were identical. We would have to rotate the two events and basically have the same event happen on the forums 24/7. At some point it will definitely become boring. I think that if we held only one Elite War, having identical rules might be ok. But if we want to do this again and again, then something more creative would be more interesting to the players.

Isn't what SG suggested the child of 12 Lives and Team PvP?
Not that I don't like it, but she wanted originality, and remixing old events' ideas might not be the way to go.
Another thing I'd like to point out is that with 66 people able to compete in such an event, 4*12=48 might not be a big enough number of members. Of course, more people would mean more work for the organizers, and the ability to leave out people you don't want is nice, but considering not everybody has seen this, wouldn't it be better to allow more people in?
So far I'm liking the idea here.

i personally believe the whole point of this idea is to mirror war as it is that we have now, but finding out "what if upped cards were used instead"
trying to change the ruling to make it 'different' and 'not boring' goes against having an elite war as brilliantly put by the poster above me, its like 12 lives + whatever not war is

Ok, we find out what happens "if upped cards were used instead". Then what? Was it just a one-time deal, or are we going to have a new Elite War?

What you suggest would mean that there would basically be War going on on these forums 24/7, with the only difference being that cards would wither be upped, or unupped. I would be willing to bet big money that it would get really boring, really fast, because people prefer doing new things as opposed to doing the same old thing over and over again. The gap between Wars is important, because it lets people to "rest" and concentrate on other things beside War. If Elite War was a bit different, it would be much more interesting, plus it wouldn't break the "resting period" of regular War.

To me War is basically about two things:

1. Element vs. Element
2. Vault

My opinion is that as long as these two aspects remain, the core of War is still there, but if one of these is missing, then it might as well be called something else. My brainstorming idea of having a common Vault has the advantage of still having that core of War, without being a carbon-copy, or getting too complex. Having 13 Vaults really takes the complexity and organizing requirements to a whole new level. Having only one Vault, would make things much easier.

i like the idea of an the one vault but i think we should add a side vault for each team where they select certian cards there always allowed to use of there said element. this will help keep core war functions but it would allow originalty because you have the big public vault and then your super secret vault of x amount of your element cards pillars and pends wouldnt not be included. what im hoping this does is by adding like 6-8 of your element cards that you can always use into a secret vault would allow the streagys to change and you would have to think outside the box. also i know im rambling here but along with adding secret cards of your said element your team will lose these cards when one of your players is eliminated so the decks would be changing more and more along with the public vault.

i wonder if anyone would support the idea of war but with greater amounts of ups per person. so general has fully upped, Lt has 24. and the rest have 18 upped. so it has the same upped difference in upped cards unnupped war has but it is mostly upped.
