I agree fully. Also If you also lowered taxes for the working class the government would get less tax money but the working class need to spend thier money anyways, it would start to make money flow again.

Nah, because then people would never support the crap we pay for now.  Taxes and government are just tools of corruption meant to make career beaurocrats and politians rich on the backs of workers.

Doesnt even have to be an astounding amount. Im not saying tax the poor to death,me and my wife live together, own our house, and we make Less than *does some calculating* $35-40,000 a year, however, we get by fine. We have no handouts of any sort, and still get by because we understand what we can and cant afford.

I do agree with this though. Loopholes are stupid, and shouldnt be exploited.

Im not saying the unemployed who truly can not find ANY work should have to, but almost 50% is ridiculous.

With so many people NOT paying taxes, theres a reason our government is broke. Especially when a lot of them arent even looking for work because they are getting paid to NOT work. This isnt conservative propaganda either. This is what i see with my own eyes. You have no idea how many people come in to our workplace and ask the managers to sign a paper saying they applied for a job, just so they can get their next check, and in reality, didnt do ANYTHING.

He has some simple but excellent ideas.
1. Reduce the size of government
2. Less taxes, as cost of operating government is less
3. Less government interference, and let the free market sort itself out.
4. Less meddling in other country's squabbles, and mind your own business. The American military expense is bleeding taxpayers dry.

except for point 3, those are all great ideas.  Problem with Point 3 is that a free market won't ever sort itself out; it'll end up with a few rich assholes bleeding the rest of the populace dry.  Recent history is the best possible example.


And again, BP, you point out that the top 5% pay 50% of the taxes, but you completely ignore the fact that the top 5% control more than 50% of the wealth in the country.  72% is more accurate (http://sociology.ucsc.edu/whorulesamerica/power/wealth.html).

If the top 5% have 72% of the wealth, shouldn't they be paying 72% of the taxes?  They don't -- because they're getting off easy.

70% of the states budget goes to police and fire.  Right now, states like wisconsin have to cut more than just 30% of their budget.

Would you rather be lit on fire?  Or shot?  How about if roads were never paved?  Or... better yet... voting booths never supplied?  Or maybe, just maybe, the government actually has legitimate things it's supposed to be doing with the money, and slash and burn tactics doesn't work when the problem lies within.

Let's go ahead and take away their pensions, then. I mean, it's not like they risk their lives for our safety or anything, so why should they deserve special treatment? While we're at it, let's scrap the department of veteran affairs.
