So hey, What's wrong with being Gay?

Hey guys I am a straight male, but I feel comfortable around homosexuals and it never seems to bother me. The only thing that does throw me off is when boys or guys start thrown public displays of affection all over the place. I believe Gay marriage is fair and justly describes someone's character. I don't believe in expressing your love for the other outside of the private places (that holds true to any couple straight or gay). What is your political and personal view on this shtuff?

ugghh i know the feeling. PDA in my high-school is rampant, RAMPANT I SAY! It's absolutely horrible, if you turn a corner trying to take a shortcut or something to your next period, BAM you'll see some couple eating each other's faces off....(how can that be enjoyable!?)

ok well at my school the only people ive SEEN make out are lesbians. they do it right out in the open in front of the busses which i have to walk by to get home. there are people who probably do make out at my school but im not looking for them. i kinda dislike that kind of thing but i understand it...

Personally, I got no problem with either PDA or gays. Then again I kissed my boyfriend in public when I was 16 already, so it would be hard not to think so I wonder if PDA is even a topic of discussion outside of North America... Here we got no rules against it in our schools, but it is rare to see people making out, while kisses and hugs are common between hetero and homosexual couples.

Religiously I'm against it, please don't bother debating me about it I'm not interested in having my beliefs critiqued, but I'm cool if you disagree.

Politically, I believe gay marriage should be allowed.  The only arguments I've seen against it are religious arguments, and Church and State are supposed to be separate are they not?

As far as PDA, it bothers me, but so does heterosexual pda.  The only difference is that I'm more used to/familiar with heterosexual pda, so it can throw you off when its homosexual pda.

What's wrong with being gay? I'll tell you what's wrong with it. It isn't 'normal' and is in the minority when you compare the amount of gay couples, and straight couples. And basically, if it's not the majority, people tend to react negatively to it. If, somehow, gays were in the majority, I believe straight would have a negative connotation with it.

That being said, I'm all for gay people. But I suppose the same could be said about gay people as about race. "I don't see color, just people." Is equal to (nowadays) "I don't see gays, just people."

I know several members of this community who are homosexual and without exception (disputable by some I'm sure) they are extremely helpful and kind to anyone they come into contact with, without exception.  If these people pose some kind of threat then there's a serious problem with society.

As for PDA...it's really only a problem for me if people take it to the extremity where it seems interferes with your personal space (i.e. eating each other's faces while sitting directly next to you), but it doesn't bother me if the couple is homosexual or not; I just don't like people entering my space at all.  Personally I refrain from PDA simply because my girlfriend dislikes drawing attention to herself (a big "simply" I might add) which is completely understandable given the reactions demonstrated by some people in such a situation.  So it's basically all up to personal opinion.

My personal opinion is that sexual orientation is irrelevant and ought to be treated as irrelevant when it comes to morality and legality.

An unfortunate thing that people have aginst gays is fear that they are whores and will do anything to anyone (yes, I've personally faced accusations of this). Alot of the argument aginst gays is just ridiculous stereotyping. Like saying someone is black so they think they're hard and go round shooting people.

I think there's nothing wrong with being gay. 'Course, I am gay, but still.

Public displays of affection never bothered me. You always have the choice to look away if you want to, no one is being hurt, it's consensual... I personally probably wouldn't engage in the activity, though, as I'm rather shy.
