Rockefeller theory

In our philosophy class, there was a theory brought up about a conspiracy to kill the Shah of Iran. When the Shah got into America, the theory went that he started black mailing rockefeller saying if he didn't give him his needs, he would tell the world about their scandal (the whole Iraq situation) and when he died (had cancer), Rockefeller would have to live with the guilt. Now, the theory went that the Shah was worked on by CIA doctors and that he 'died' during a medical procedure. They theory claimed Rockefeller did this to shut him up after being so annoying.

This is a brief summary, but in short, seems too unlikely to happen. Your thoughts? (the situation made more sense to put this in a political thread and not a philo thread).

I can see how it is possible. Rockefeller is one of those people that probably had more power and impact on everybody than the actual government. We also know that he had A LOT of money. Bribing is easily possible.

Do we really want to throw unfounded accusations at people? Even a false rumor can easily cause permanent damage to someone's reputation.

I merely thought that people, in general, avoided committing slander. Unfounded accusations tend to be slander.

Called a theory, called it a conspiracy. Rockefeller already ruined his reputation before this event with Iran. It's also politics, so people are going to get 'hurt.'

Telling us not talk about this because it slanders him isn't his thoughts. It's an attempt to divert the attention. Were here to talk about the topic, not debate whether this hurts his reputation.

Correct, those are not my thoughts. My thoughts are up in my posts. I am criticizing the method/tack/approach not the content. I am not saying it should not be talked about. I am saying that the discussion should involve supported conspiracy theories rather than unsupported theories.

Wait, Trees under what logic do you come to the conclusion to throw out the proposed? If this was done at the start of every conspiracy investigation  the cases against corporations in our law system would heavily favor the corporations.
What I believe this thread is asking foe is to answer.......

Would a man with all the riches in the world and no accountability ever consider "getting rid" of a problem?  ( In fact it is not just no accountability, his status protects him against the consequences of this action if he really did take it. )

Motive and method exist thus would require further investigation.

Sorry for confusing you. I was suggesting investigation prior to condemnation. (I was extremely critical of skipping the investigation stage) Like we do in cases against corporations, we investigation first and then accuse after some evidence has been acquired. (Then convict after more evidence has been acquired)

Some believe evidence suggests that rockefeller was being bribed by the shah when he was in America getting cancer treatment.
