As the title says...

Pray for the people in Egypt fighting for the lives and liberty.  This is a very big deal and a possible sign of whats to come with the growing economic collapses across the globe.

Truely, I hope everything calms down and the people get the rights they deserve.

BTW, I might be wrong, but things like this have happened before in the history of mankind, and many times no one thought it was a "big deal". Just to point down some hipocresy (spelling FTW) in the world.

First Greece, and now Egypt. You can only wonder which country's going to be next. There seems to be a lot of rioting and collapsing of stable governments within the past few years. Hopefully, we'll be able to look back at what caused it to prevent it from happening again.

I hope that however things work out for the nation, the people won't have to riot like this for a long, long time.

Don't forget France, Britain and lots of other countries. Allthough on a smaller scale, riots are part of society...

True.

Still, I wonder what's the cause of all of these riots... but that's for another thread, I guess.

I hope Egypt does well, as well as Tunisia and the other Arab states finally starting to shrug off their dictators. It remains to be seen what might happen after the old regimes are deposed, though. It's quite likely that the country will be left weak and a new dictator will take power. I only hope that this isn't the case, that they will find their way to democracy somehow.

In my opinion: The same that goes for natural disasters (earthquakes, volcano's, tsunami's etc) goes for riots. At this moment in time we see everything on television, reporters are everywhere and if something happens, it's broadcasted all over the world.
That and the fact that a person lives on every square inch of this world makes it that alot of stuff is happening. Earthquakes that wouldn't have caused anyone any harm are now devastating, and a few people disagreeing with their leaders turn into riots. In the meantime, we get to see everything through television.

btw. good luck over there in Egypt etc.

People in Egypt are poor. They get like 30$ a week, and now compare that with the pocket-money you got when you were a child/you get. A hard working man deserves more.

I never got an allowance (or pretty much any money, for that matter).

Still, you have a good point. If I worked for 40 hours and barely made enough to support my family, I'd be upset. Really upset.

The question for me is what kind of freedom they'll actually get. Right now it's looking like Mubarak will give in, but the military will take his position.

I don't know about everything that's going on.
I'm going to have to do some research first ^^;;
You're probably right though.
