Italian Politics: What's really going on? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=22500.msg285297#msg285297

This will be a short explanation about Italian Politics:

First, there is Berlusconi. Berlusconi owns communication, and that's why italians vote him. Berlusconi has been investigated various times, but he has always been saved. Nonetheless, Berlusconi is not just a old rich pedo, he's also a great communicator.

Then, there is Lega Nord. These are the funniest individuals in Italy. They follow Berlusconi, but they're just waiting for backstabbing him. Lega Nord wants Northern Italy to separate from Southern Italy. They, awkwardly, have a lot of votes. I repeat, they're funny individuals. The leader, when he was asked if his son was his dauphin, he responded that his son was so stupid it was a trout. Sadly, it is true. And all the biggest heads of the party are also trouts.

Later, we find Futuro e Libertà. They seemed to be the ones that were going to make Berlusconi resign. They became a bunch of deserters.

Then, there is Movimento per le autonomie. It is a newborn party, and I know nothing about those. They just seem to be the Lega Nord of the South. Without funny individuals.

Then, there is the Demochristians, in all their versions. As some of you may know, Demochristians used to rule Italy. Then Berlusconi came.

The Democratic Party (PD) should be the left, but they don't even know what they are, they're always one against each other. The only thing that keeps them glued is the hate for Berlusconi.

IDV is smaller party. They're like PD right now, at least they seem to be united.

Then there is Sinistra, Ecologia e Libertà. They're the new political force in Italy. Their leader, a declared homosexual, is the most charismatic person that the left had in a big time.

Then, there are a lot of smaller parties, that nobody really cares about that are either debris of older parties or useless autonomy invoking parties.

This is italian politics, as it appears from the inside.

Interesting. Reminds me of American politics: parties on the left are either too small to matter or they've betrayed their principles completely. I've heard a little bit about Berlusconi and he does indeed seem like quite a terrible, corrupt figure.
