I gladly take credit for calling his comb over a republican comb over. I find that quite humorous. Perhaps we could agree this belongs in both sections?
I think we're taking him too seriously. I don't think he has any real expectation of winning, or he wouldn't be throwing in things like this in his platform:
Repeal the inheritance tax to offset one-time wealth tax
I would impose a one-time, 14.25% tax on individuals and trusts with a net worth over $10 million. For individuals, net worth would be calculated minus the value of their principal residence. That would raise $5.7 trillion in new revenue, which we would use to pay off the entire national debt [and shore up the Social Security Trust Fund].
It's hard to imagine this actually happening. But I still stand by what I said about him as president.
I think he would implement this tax. Then lower taxes for those same individuals. That's my opinion. I think this plan is considered an investment. (said before reading the article) Oh and he want's to remove inheritence tax. So the mega rich can more easily transfer their wealth to their children is what is sounds like to me. Basically, it's going to be easier for mega rich to collect a larger and larger portion of the wealth over time. He's removing part of the reset button.
Then he plainly says: Tax rates are too high. Exactly which tax rates. Can someone clear this up? It sounds like he's going to impose the "1 time tax" then make larger portions of wealth transferable to mega rich children so it's easier for mega rich children to progress in taking and keeping a larger portion of the pie. Then it sounds like on top of that he's going to lower taxes, partially reducing revenue and helping the mega rich even further.
Correct me if I'm missing something please and try to tell me his comb over isn't a true republican comb over.
Furthermore, dispite the article, how many quick fixes are there really going to be?
