With YOUR reasoning Eva that means all superior races are violent people.
I never said that. I said IF. I never said that all superior races automatically will murder us. But if they did, that's their choice and we have nothing to do with it. We can fight back, but there's no rights involved.

I guess above all else I believe that free will automatically overrides rights. Even if you decide something is bad, there are always people who believe otherwise, and react on their own free will. Although rights protect us to some extent, ultimately they are a pre-fabricated system that are set in place to attempt to promote an orderly society. WE are the ones who decide what the rights are, they aren't just there. On the other hand, everyone has the freedom to choose what they want to do, no matter what others say about it. Even if consequences are involved, there is always a choice. This is something that is basically apparent, unlike rights which are created. So there will always be people who choose not to believe in rights of their own free will, whether we like it or not.

I myself think that animal cruelty is sad and should be avoided whenever possible, but I'm not about to force my opinions on others if they think otherwise.

Also, as I said, rights are something we created, it isn't something that just IS like, say, gravity. But this means nobody gave us the right to decide what others' rights are. Who are we to say what an animal's rights ARE? We think ourselves better than everything else just because we think we have the right to decide these kinds of rules.

I own 4 beautiful cats/kittens and I don't think this card is animal cruelty.  Drobbit you are getting waaaay to carried away with this overwhelming PC BS.  You don't like the card don't play the game, plain and simple.  No matter what you do in this world someone will be offended, it's time to just deal and move on.  You can't make everyone happy.   This post imo is complete lunacy.

In all reality, they put Schrodinger's Cat in the game because it symbolized a substantial portion of Entropy, as did Maxwell's Demon.

Let's put it this way: The theme is based around the ideal of the experiment itself. And you want it taken out because it features a cat.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

We're going off topic. The card is NOT Schodinger's kitty we are talking about(and that kitty is perfectly fine because as I stated before, we're never doing that in real life.).   It is a card in the Crucible, whose anonymity I will shoot down right now.

There has been a lot of media (games, movies, novels etc) about superior aliens conquering Earth and enslaving humans yadda yadda, but there has been equally as much media focused around helpful aliens who reject the arrogant notion that they are superior to everything else and go onto support and nurture flourishing species without becoming overly involved in their development.

I personally find it a shame that we cant apply the same principles to animals, but I also feel this is very much a rl issue. I dont buy into the whole violent video games=violent person philosophy.

everyone keeps banging on about Schrödinger's cat and how that's cruel. its what's called a thought experiment or in other words an example. a means to convey an otherwise difficult theory to a biased audience.

I overall feel that current issues in this world should not reflect too strongly on the game but should still be used with caution.  In a card ideas forum, countless ideas are bound to appear and some people might find them more offensive than others.  It's a question of ethics here :  Do you feel this game reflects on real life issues, specifically animal cruelty?

Well, the thing is that the game is a game. We have crusaders who might offend people because crusaders historically fight needless battles for the sake of a fake god. We have crusaders who might offend people because crusaders were Christain. We have Owl Eyes which kills creatures in cold-blooded, snipey goodness.

We have otyughs that swallow other creatures whole. We have daggers, and daggers are very sharp and dangerous. What it comes down to is that EVERYONE is offended by something. But the people who we should be worrying about are the children.

Are children going to go hunt and skin rabbits alive to see what they look like on the inside because they played a card game with an animal experimentation card? No...so why should it matter?
