Here is a question:
Let us say that a group of workers generally considered to be crucial, for instance, police, firemen, doctors, EMT's, etc.   decide that they are being paid an unfairly low wage, and let us, for the sake of argument, say that it is only barely a living wage, if it could even be called that.


Do you think that these groups should be allowed to go on a complete strike to negotiate for fairer wages? (e.x. all Police decide to not do anything until their wages/insurance etc. is renegotiated)

sure. as a moral note, the police/whatever group should try to let the public know who exactly is  keeping their pay such that one couldn't stay working there. i'm sure a small group of civilians would quickly fix a problem, but only one they heard of.

Sure they should be able to go on strike. They should also be able to be replaced by people who will take it.

P1) These workers do not value their wages as much as the opportunity cost of working for those wages
P2) It is irrational to choose a strictly less valuable option
P3) These workers are rational
C) These workers should move to a more valuable option
