Should she have control over someone else's body too?  That was a practice fairly common in antiquity--it was called slavery then.
Abortion is not slavery. Slavery keeps people alive for the purpose of work or sex or something else that benefits the slave owner.
So, abortion is better because somebody dies?  Ugh...

Abortion and slavery both allow for the treatment of humans as property.  (Also, slavery does not prevent slave owners from killing slaves.)

I think i could support your cause if you had an amorphous twin that grew off of your own body and then you made him do your bidding. These aren't other people's kids that are being killed, its a fetus in a woman's own body - just look at Roe v Wade - it says that the abortion is within her rights to privacy and control over her body. Slavery doesn't follow those guidelines.

I think we must leave the current 'I am against, it's murder" or 'I am pro abortion, it's a right".

First we must say that no woman practices abortion with joice, and it's never a will to "kill the baby".
But, as it prevents someone to live, technically, it's a murder.
But on second thought, it's not a right either, as women would prefer to avoid abortion, if possible.
So what is really the problem ?

The main problem in abortion is why we legalized it :
- It's more comfortable for most people to know that if I don't want a baby, I can do abortion, or I can pay
her to do abortion. It's just a matter of convenience. Let's have sex with anybody, anytime...
- It costs money to raise children. Money is better than life. So we want abortion.

So I really think it's BAD reasons. For the very same reason, we could kill old people who lost their minds.
The good way would be 1/ to help women with unwanted child with the possibility to give her child to another family,
or 2/ to help woman without money to raise in a decent way her child.

People who are pro abortion should think to all the ethic consequences of preventing someone to live.
People who are against abortion should think to the ways to help people who see abortion as a solution.

Me, I am clearly against, because life is much more important that comfort or money, or anything else, except, of course, another life.
But it's so easy to condemn people with a different opinion.... that I don't want.

(Sorry for my poor english, I am french)

Looking to legal precedent does not make a strong case for what's right or wrong.  After all, both slavery and abortion have been both legal and illegal in the past 200 years.  (Further, you have to accept that people sometimes make mistakes--even Supreme Court justices.)   The point is, the woman is exerting control over another person's body.  So it's much more entangled than "it's my body, it's my choice."

The poll is not really fair, pro-life, pro-abortion, I'm pro-life and pro-choice.

Fixed... or wait... Sorry, do you have a hard time justifying, when using your own wording of human? Desensitizing the situation helps doesnt it? Its really the only real thing you have going for you right now.

I think this is really what the argument is about. When can the embryo/fetus be considered human?
At leas it a major question on the way to a possible agreement. It doesn't magically do anything, it develops.

Ive got a question then, if it was proved that it was a human, then would you consider it wrong?

So, as long as all parties (except the baby, of course, nobody ever considers the baby's choice) are willing, you think abortion is OK the day before delivery? an hour before delivery? when the head has been delivered, but not the rest of the baby's body?
