Marijuana, Legal or Illegal

I'm undecided. Part of the reason is that your main points for legalizing it are tobacco and alcohol, and I believe those should be illegal anyway. I just don't know enough about the physical affects to make an educated decision.

marijuana isn't as bad as it's made out to be. it doesn't kill you or cause as much damage as a lot of people think it does

iirc, the only reason why it's illegal now is because hemp was emerging as a substitute for some materials and the wealthy people didn't like it so they got it banned. With that being said, I say it should be legal.

Actually, because its cost would radically drop down, so lots of important people (even lots of people in the government) would lose money...

That's an early on one. Notice it only says 3% of precincts reporting? There are millions of people in Cali, and that only adds to just over 300,000.  But looking through the results today, it still lost.

I'm extremely for the legalization of marijuana. It's incredibly stupid as to why it's illegal. Prop 19 failed for a few reasons:

1 - The younger voters are were a lot of the weight behind the prop was, but because it's an in-between year a lot of the younger voters usually don't turn out.
2 - A lot of people who smoke weed voted against prop 19 to protect their profits(both commercial and black-market growers/dealers).
3 - This year was obviously heavily conservative.

I'm hoping that with how close the vote was (difference of ~300,000 votes) that in 2012 it will be passed. There is absolutely no reason why it should be illegal while other substances like cigarettes and alcohol are legal and regulated.

That is one of the main reasons. The other was to have an excuse to arrest Mexicans and blacks. It's incredibly stupid. We're all brainwashed to think that marijuana is bad. All the 'studies' that prove the 'bad effects' of weed are bullshit. And all the other studies that the government funded and started that didn't show anything bad were all swept under the rug. Weed doesn't kill braincells(the study for this was done on monkeys and they were given a LOT of marijuana smoke through an oxygen mask. The reason why the study said that weed kills braincells is that during that time the monkeys weren't given any oxygen and just pure marijuana smoke, and to anybody with a brain this is just proving what we already know, that depriving your body of oxygen will cause braincells to be destroyed.

There are so many studies like that. All the information is skewed and it's really really stupid.
