The Dragon's Arena Decks

This goes to show you how important the thumbs-up is now for getting a highly-rated arena deck.  (first deck I submitted under that system)  The last two decks I submitted were rank 5 and 7, with similar win/loss ratios, and this one was rank 40.  I can't blame anyone for giving it the thumbs down, though; it is pretty boring, except for the nymphs.  I don't think it'll get to the top 25 in the next day, which is my goal with every deck, and I got Flying Weapon today, so I'm going with that, as I have a good idea for it that should get lots of thumbs up

This deck was just for fun, as the w/l clearly shows   It got thumbs-up for most of its wins, since it is rather unique, but it's just not good enough to be competitive.  I figured flying longbows would be fun, and I backed it up with wings and sky blitz.  Then to make it unique I added in one card each from most of the other elements.  The flesh recluse was picked to use web for the wings shields, just because I've never used web before :p

Today's card is Nymph's Tears, and I had an idea for it that I have NEVER seen done with it before, so I'm going with that.  Even the flying longbows I've seen done, just not with all that extra crap, but this idea I've got for the Tears I'm pretty sure has never been done.

And here it is!  It sucks really, really bad, but it was completely unique, as far as I know.  If memory serves, 7/8 of the wins were thumbs-up, so the community also agreed with me.



The deck wins by deckout, unless it somehow kills by tickling you to death with light nymphs.  I figure if nothing else, it should've been able to absolutely destroy SPlat :p  In testing I beat it every time with my usual deck, so I knew that this wouldn't win, but I also knew it would be a new idea, so I submitted it anyway.

Got Forest Scorpion today, and since that's a decent card, and the nymph's tears deck will almost certainly be knocked out in another game or two anyway, I'm building a new deck with that.

Pretty straightforward deck.  Cast arsenics off the mark, play epinephrined scorpions, and hopefully win!  Awfully hard for the AI to misplay, and the draws should've been pretty consistent.  The unupped pillars were just because I didn't have any more upped ones; I figured unupped pillar > upped pend in this deck.  If you don't have a green nymph, a 6th epi would be just fine.  (which I also didn't have)

Today's card is gravity pillar, which allows for quite a few good decks.  Discord/Black Hole, monogravity charger/hole, etc.  I'll try to come up with something a bit unique, but I might just go back to tried and true

I decided to just be a jerk with quicksands and black holes :p  The deck has enough denial that it managed to win two games last night with only 32hp max.  Quick funny story: I was playing in plat league yesterday against a gravity/earth duo.  It quicksanded all my pillars, black holed all my quanta, played chargers, shriekers, flying pulvies, and overdrives.  I was thinking to myself... what an asshole :p  Then I realized... that's almost exactly my arena deck :p  (it wasn't mine, but very close)

Today's card is lycanthrope.

edit: Heh, the deck won another game as I was posting this.  I think I'll leave it up and see how it does, but I'll switch to the lycan sometime later today.
edit: The deck got 4 more losses and no wins while I was at work   Not too surprising, though, with 32hp.

Due to the US Thanksgiving weekend, this deck got about half the plays of last week's deck, but it wouldn't have been a contender, anyway.  The other unusual thing is that people voted last week's pulvy/hole/quicksand deck as MORE unique than THIS deck.  Almost nobody gave this duo thumbs up, which in my mind is truly bizarre, because this deck is way more creative than last week's.  A speedbow based on lycanthrope would have probably been a top 10 deck, but I wanted something creative instead of boring like that.

My card today is graviton mercenary, and I'm too lazy to build a speedbow for it this early in the morning, so I'm just putting up a 1hp farm for 24 hours.  Enjoy!

This deck was really fun (5/6 of the wins were thumbs up) and not intended to be serious, but it probably won't survive the day, so I'm replacing it.  The idea was to freeze everything, breed stuff with mitosis, and just keep healing like crazy.  Then there were a few random win conditions, and I was hoping that one of them would work while the squid/healing locked the board down.  Puffers, dragon, spectres, and void shards all are win conditions approaching the goal from very different angles, so I hoped one of them would be sufficient.

Today's card is Feral Bond.  It'll be another fun deck, but of a slightly different style, I think.

You'll like the next one, then.  It's very similar in concept, only instead of water cards I used pharaohs and shards of readiness and a bunch more time cards like hourglass and eternity.  It's only 1-0 so far after almost an entire day, though, but it did get a thumbs-up on that one

Silly fun deck based on Feral Bond, SoR, and whatever.  Apparently it's marginally better than the water/feral bond deck :p

Got Trident today, and I made a deck fitting the requirements for jappert's weapon master thread, with no exception cards.  We'll see how that does... :p

I don't know how it won even twice...  I figure this deck could beat SPlat, with the purifies, land destruction, and SoPs versus SoSa, but that's about it.  Maybe this deck merely proves that 2/7 of you are playing SPlat?

Today's card is Forest Spirit.  I think I'll throw a speedbow together and make something that might actually have a chance this time.
