Well, if I hadn't checked this tonight, I'd probably have checked in the morning and thought it made it to 8 days. Still, so close... The thumbs up ratio couldn't maintain the momentum of the first day, but it did still get a respectable 40% ratio, which considering how bad the second day was, that's pretty good.
I took FFQ/hope as a rough basis for my inspiration for this deck. Obviously, with upped FFQs, light cards are out of the question. However, I added the firestallish combo of fire buckler and feral bonds. The bonds are traditionally part of FFQ/hope, and have obvious synergy with all the spawned fireflies. The bucklers combined with the bonds then act much like buckler/sanc or buckler/SoG do in firestall, killing creatures while keeping your hp up. Some shards of freedom were added to protect the fireflies as well as bypass annoying dimshields or the like. Eagle's eyes and red nymphs for CC (as well as rage buff on the queens and nymphs), green nymphs for adrenaline, giving more hitting power and more quanta when played on fireflies/damselflies, and then blue nymphs to help bypass stall decks with unstable gases. Two explosions for PC (enough to be useful but not so many as to piss people off) and one sky blitz for a finisher (I like having exactly one sky blitz in a lot of air creature decks; just having the possibility of it raises all kinds of potential threats, and sometimes you can get a really big finish with it that you couldn't possibly have gotten otherwise) Two of each nymph seemed a good balance between QI, having variety of cards, and not just winning off of nymphs. (plus, I only have two air nymphs to use, though I do have more of the life/fire ones, but I think they'd just have clogged the hand had I added more)
I was pretty proud of this deck. It takes a bunch of cool ideas and merges them all into one deck in such a way that while it bears a strong resemblance to many other decks (FFQ/hope, firestall, UG stall), yet it's none of these, but something new, or at least new to me. Today's card is rustler, and I hope that I can find something as cool to do with that as I did with this deck.
