I suspect whoever faced that.. thing thought it was way too random to be well designed x)
I'm inclined to agree. Good design and if it works well matters when I'm voting up or down.

I felt it was actually fairly well designed in terms of synergies, although I knew the AI would struggle with it for that very reason.  Still, I suspect that you're right; it looks brilliant to me because I have the decklist in front of me, but to someone else, it would just seem like a random pile of stuff most of the time.

This deck did quite a bit better than I thought it would.  If I were playing Magic: the Gathering, I'd call it something like monoearth stompy.  The shards of integrity were used essentially as cheap weenies, whether played one at a time, or several stacked all at once; the attack value is the same, or at least I think it was.  (though obviously the quanta cost is cheaper when a six shard golem is played, rather than six one shard golems)  I suspect it lost some thumbs ups because of the quicksands; I know at least in my experience, it's one of the cards I most hate going up against in the arena.  Considering the deck wasn't actually all that creative, it did fairly reasonably in terms of thumbs ups.  I've done similar low quanta builds in a few other elements; I know I did a death one using skeletons and poison and stuff like that, and it did fairly well.  I think I've done it in darkness as well, using pests as quanta sources.  It should be possible in fire as well, doing things like brimstone eater, minor phoenix, fire spectre, and so on; in fact, the next time I get one of those cards in fire, that's what I'm doing :p  I like that...

Anyway, today's card is gnome gemfinder.  I could just put exactly the same deck up again, but I'm going to think up a new idea.  I'm not sure what, yet.  Maybe I'll roll a dice to see what duo I should make.

Nice. I thumbed that up, although I was very confused by the random golems.

I knew people probably wouldn't like this deck very much.  However, since I did run it slightly differently than most pest decks, I hoped that it would be slightly more popular.  I think it actually was more popular than most monodarks, but it still didn't get too many thumbs ups.  I chose gargoyles over vampires, even though vampire is probably better in this deck, because it synergizes more with the gemfinders making earth quanta.  I also tried to use as little quanta as possible, much as my arena deck last week did.

Today's card is fire spectre.  As I mentioned last week, I was saying how I think it would be possible to make a deck themed much like this one and last week's, only in fire, if I were to get something like ash eater or fire spectre, and the oracle has seen fit to let me test this theory out.  That's why I took the deck down before it dropped out of the top 500, that, and the fact it's only at 1hp anyway, and there isn't anything worth farming out of it.

Yeah, I've used it the last couple times to generate the deck code, rather than use Paint and an image host.

I'm pretty happy with it overall.  I might try using that table and see whether people like that better.  One thing that would be really cool would be if it included the quanta index calculation, especially if it took the double or triple mark into account.  (and double draw, though I'm not sure if anyone's ever worked out how that would affect it, or if it even would; I'd have to think about that...)

True, we do need an updated QI calculator. It would probably be a separate tool, but needs to be done. I don't think any of the current QI tools understand the new shards, and none have ever taken multi-marks into account. I should probably start a thread about this and get feedback on a proper formula.

16/55 thumbs up

Okay... holy crap, antiaverage, that tool is good :p  I was expecting to have to fill out the table with all my own info, but then I checked with my arena deck and it somehow figured it all out :D  I didn't have to do dick all except copy/paste one line of text.  It's a little wider than I was hoping it would be, but otherwise it's freaking awesome.  It doesn't have a thumbs up calculator, but between four different leagues and possible top ten bonuses, that's not really possible to calculate anyway.

Anyway, as to the deck, I went along the same theme as the last two, the dark/earth weenie and the monoearth weenie.  All three had quanta generating creatures and very low quanta demands on the deck, so more nonquanta cards were able to be used, as long as they were low cost.  All three had roughly the same thumbs up ratios, so regardless of element, the decks were roughly equally well-received. (or in this case, not particularly well received)  The holy flashes were mostly just to be silly, although they did also give a deck that has no business healing the ability to do so, as well as a way around shard of sacrifice.

Today's card is thorn carapace.  I'll probably have to make a large deck in order to dilute the ten shields.  I'm going to run some sort of fat adrenastaves deck, and use lots of rares so it will be a pseudofarm as well.  I'll probably try and splash some other element in just to make it interesting.
