The Dragon's Arena Decks

I had to put this somewhere... this is me playing against a platinum deck.

RoF is up to 25-7 right now with the deck I built.  Got Obsidian Pillar the first day, Purple Nymph yesterday (yes another one!) and gave that a pass, since the deck I built last time with it sucked, and just now got Green Nymph.  (yes two nymphs in a row, time to buy a lottery ticket I think!)  Not sure how that will work out; I might try and make a deck with it tomorrow using scorpions and frogs and stuff, since I have enough upgraded towers/pends in life to make a 35 card deck using them, which isn't true of most elements yet for me.

This deck started out okay, but I think it must have been just barely winning most of its games, because the last day or two it did significantly worse, as you can see from my last post, since then it only went 12-10.  I modeled it after the bone dragon cremation/lava destroyer deck in my first post that did pretty nicely, but it just isn't as fast or powerful as that was.



I figured that death, with soul catcher and bone wall, would provide good synergy with Rain of Fire, and by using crimson dragons and photons, I didn't need as much wisdom.  (since crimsons are cheaper than ruby dragon, and I don't care if my photons produce light quanta)  I suspect that the deck suffered from poor draws; sometimes you might get a killer hand, and other times it might completely flop.

The cards I skipped over were Obsidian Pillar (decent, but my deck was still new and doing okay), Purple Nymph (always nice to see, but that didn't work very well last week as a deck card) and Green Nymph. (also very nice to see, but again probably the AI would not play it right)  Today I got Fate Egg, so this is going to be funny :p  I have a lot of time towers/pendulums upgraded from "I've got GotP Time" that I have fully built and upgraded, so using a time card seemed like a good idea.  Plus, even if the deck sucks, it should be extremely fun to play against!

Well, I was pleasantly surprised this morning.  After making my fate egg deck (which I thought would suck) and having it 0-1 last night, I went to bed and then this morning it was 6-1   Not bad so far.  I got Schrodinger's Cat today, so the Fate Egg deck gets at least another 24 hours to prove itself!

It took me awhile to build this deck, as I tried a few different things before just tearing them apart and starting over.  I settled on using the fate eggs and then picking as many annoying cards as possible as support.  I had tested two games against it with my arena deck; the first it kicked my ass, and the second I beat it when it ran out of its deck.  I'm just amazed it managed to stay in platinum at all and have over 50% wins :p

Today's card was Gravity Pendulum, so I'm building a new deck around that.  Not sure exactly what it will be yet, but it will pack a lot of black holes...   I'm thinking discord/hole, flying titans, or my best approximation of zse's vampire dagger/black hole deck.

Basically copied zse's deck with less upgrades and it's 8-3 right now.  Got red nymph today from oracle (I've had INCREDIBLE nymph luck lately :D:D ) which was the very first card I got when arena came out, so I don't have my deck code for it, as that was before I made this thread.  The deck I made with it was back when I was at the top of gold, rather than at the bottom of platinum, so its win record might have been inflated by weaker decks playing against it; I'm not sure.  In any event, I think I'll stick with the gravity pendulum deck for now.

 8) I just wish I could take credit for the deck :p  I completely ripped zse's deck, only I had less upgrades, and instead of using unupped vampire stilettos I put in titans instead.  (and I have more pendulums than he did, since I had to have 5)  I've been upgrading gravity towers since I put the deck up, and I also gained a level in the meantime, so it's been slowly improving, as well.  I ran up against my wisdom limit, so unless I want to take a big hp hit, I can't put any more upgrades in.  I've got an upped titan and black hole I could use, but I don't think it's worth the hp loss to increase my wisdom.  (which means zse must be quite a bit higher level than my 65, since he had max wisdom and at least the hp I have)

edit: Just visited the oracle and he gave me plate armor, so you'll all have to deal with zse's... I mean uh... MY monstrosity of a deck for another day at least.

Deck: (the 7 towers and 2 of the chargers were upgraded in the first day or two as I won electrum; all the losses came early, I think the deck was 8-3 at one point, and then won 16 in a row once it got the towers upped)

I got Flesh Spider today, which is a decent card, but I have almost no upgraded death cards, so I can't make a good deck with it.  I'll be away all week and won't have access to the internet, so I changed the deck slightly and am going to leave it up until I get back Friday night.  (sadly going to miss oracle spins on tues/wed/thurs, my first misses since starting elements  )  What I did was drop the mark to 2x, up wisdom to 60, and up HP to 175.  Then I dropped the daggers and animates and one titan (7 cards) and added a 6th steal, a 5th/6th Elite Charger, and four Shard of Divinity (to help counteract the crap hp I'm going to have at the end of the week)  With the upped wisdom, the titan and all 6 black holes are also now upgraded copies, as well as the 5th oracle pendulum.

I was inspired to use the SoDs by somebody's graboid deck in the arena last week.  When I first saw it, I laughed because it had 1hp, and thought I was going to kick its ass.  Sadly, it played several SoDs right away, and then beat me down before I could mount a defense.  The dude's deck ended up winning with something like 70 out of 81 hp max, and I was pissed :p

I thought about making a farm while I'm gone, but I want to see how the deck does this way, which is why I posted the stats for it now; I significantly changed it.

So this is what it will look like now until Friday night.  I had already changed it before taking a screenshot of the older one with daggers, so that's why I just wrote the list above.

Just got back from my vacation   The above deck's stats are now:
145hp, 30 wisdom, 2x card draw, 3x mark

I guess that's not bad considering the deck is down to 47hp :p  I spun Druid Staff today, and might build adrenastaves later, but for some reason I can't access most of the arena right now; it just says loading please wait... and never loads :p  All I can see are the deck stats, and a few other parts... gonna post details in a bug thread or something.

edit: Spun Dragonfly yesterday and Phase Spider today.  The adrenastaves deck is 6-1 so far, so I'm leaving it up.
edit: Spun Enchant Artifact yesterday (uh lol? automatic skip I think there) and today spun Dark Pendulum.  I haven't decided if I'll use that or not yet; it should be possible to make a good deck around that, but adrenastaves is at 31-7.  Not sure if I can do better with the pendulum, but I have a day to figure it out.
