This got me rank 2 in arena. 195 HP, triple mark.
The arena has defeated its own purpose of encouraging creative decks; it's the same formula over and over.
Once again I prove my point: without adding random factors that skew the game quite a lot, or have a very large card base (which is kind of random, since the useful combinations of cards become so many that you cannot memorise), everything is just going to be the same.
Arena is all about countering grinders. Get good card? Apply a formula. Get bad card? forfeit.
Only randomness can create interesting scenarios that requires the mind. It's just the same in bridge; there are so many combinations of cards, that one cannot memorise the play, but need to use one's wits to play; that's what keeps it interesting. I know you guys are all in deck construction. In fact, I am, too. But these deck archetypes are killing the possible variations of gameplay, it's like - out of all the combinations of musical notes, you only get to hear 1 single piece of Mozart. That's interesting at first, but eventually gets boring. Some musical notes make nonsense, but some other combinations - say, a composition of Bach, might be as interesting, or even more interesting than the original.
Elements need a dynamic revolution. RPS is only continuously fun for hardcore players. Play RPS with your sibling/roomie/friend every day, for a total of 15 minutes per day, and let's see how long can it last.
P.S. I'm not back into the game, but I spin Oracle every day. Elements has become my personal fortune teller... coincidentally, the Oracle is the most random part in EtG, being on par with Half Blood.
Again it's me ranting.
