"why" is a question children often ask. We might think it is annoying but think about this, many great thinkers and scientist asked why. Example: When the apple fell from the tree Sir Issac Newton asked the question why? And came up some fundamental laws about motion and gravity. The question "why" I believe is a basic human thought. The reason why children ask it so much.

We progress through asking some questions yes, but its when that's taken to extreme's that we tend to go in a circle and get nowhere rather than progress. Always questioning yourself more often leads to confusion rather than a answer, questioning things in itself is fine though and helps us progress. It's like a double edged sword.
