Sometimes, I feel different.
Sometimes, I feel like nobody can see life the same way as me.

I thought about it. I believe it's mostly because of my inherent disagreement with this statement.

I don't agree with it. I can't agree with it. In my mind it's simply untrue.

And yet I feel like it's inherently true to just about everyone else.

So I want to post my own opinion.

You never have to do anything.

There's what you want to do, and what you want to not do, and the reasons why.
There are the things that you can and can't do.

But never in life will you do something that you truly don't want to do.

There's always a reason that makes you want to.
There's always a choice.

I want to know what you think.

I completely agree with this statement in everything it says. Sure, you never have to do anything, but I believe it is not based on what you have to do like breath or die. Yet, I believe it refers to the correct choice in life, if you come across something that shows an obvious correct decision that could decide the life of another that is something you have to do.

I understand where you are coming from, and that is fine, but dieing is something we all have to do or being the good person is something that everyone does at sometime in their life whether it is correct to them or not.

Just my 2  :electrum
Whenever you feel alone and nobody is there, you can't feel more alive.

Dieing is easy, living is hard.

I dont agree with it. You always have a choice. Sometimes the choice is harder, but better, or sometimes its easier, but wrong. OR sometimes the hard choice it to do bad, and the easy one to do good. Regardless of your stance though, there is always a choice. There may only be 1 right choice, but there IS always a choice. Take Matrix revolutions for an example. If that wasnt a movie, there would have been no happy ending and Neo would have screwed over all of Zion when he chose to save trinity instead.

The bold parts are part of my beliefs. But I don't believe in a reason for everything because there's a flaw I see in that statement. The only thing you ever have to do is exist. Non-existence is non-existent.
It is the greatest mystery of all...

"You have to do your homework."
Why?
"You have to do well in school."
Why?
"You have to go to a good college."
Why?
"You have to get a good job."
Why?
"You have to afford a luxurious life-style."
Why?
"You cannot live like a parasite off your parents."
Why?
"You don't want to burden your parents with your existence."
Why?
"Because you're not a sociopath or whatever they call it. Or are you? o_O"
...

That's my view on the whole "You have to fit into society," thing. Yes, the thing can go ad infinitum, but that doesn't mean you can't put your own end somewhere. There are things you have to do to achieve what you want to achieve, unless you can change the laws of physics. Of course, society and cultural views can be changed, but I see them as rigid. If I want to be a productive member of society, then I have to do what everyone claims is a sure-fire method to becoming a productive member of society. Now, I could ask myself "Why? Why do you want to be a productive member of society?" like my five-year-old cousin, or I can live my life with a purpose. Unfortunately, I chose the former. ^^;;

Yes, there are things that are out of control. No matter what you do, everyone has their own opinions and society IS rigid.

But nevertheless, I believe it's important to realize that even if you do follow the rules of society you are doing it of your own accord.

You may not like it, but you WANT to follow the path that people have set out for you. It's your choice. I think it's important to realize that it was a choice and figure out why you made that choice.

Because you take a little bit out of it all when you tell yourself that you have no choice but to do something. It's like saying that you're destined to follow a path that others have set out for you and cannot do anything else.

No, the choice is there, the reasons are there.

I'm not saying something like "You have to do your homework, even if you don't want to."
I'm saying "Even if you think you don't want to do your homework, even if you don't like it, you still choose to of your own accord and there's a reason why you chose to do it."

Personally, I don't like school.
I think it's pointless, and there could be much better alternatives.

But I still go. Not because I have no choice, but because I want to.
This choice is important to me, and yet I still meet so many people telling me that this choice isn't there.

I say screw society.
I moved 2 states away when still 19 to get married. Been married over a year and a half now. I didnt go to college even though everyone thought I should. Becoming a youth pastor. Im not certified for it, nor, aside from mentoring and private study, have I had any training for it whatsoever. I am GOING to get certified, but only because I feel like it. I am already doing the youths sunday school class, and going to be doing the wednesday night youth group in 1 month. Society may not like my path, however, all my friend who pressured me to go to college, and were hardly trying to hide their disappointment in me,  are proud of me and are extremely impressed at how well I am doing. I learned this after the fact that they had talked about how big a mistake they thought I was making. Society doesnt know anything though. Made a living until I found an actual job doing construction work with my father in law, and am now a delievery driver for pizza hut.  My dad told me how we wouldnt make enough money, but we save money good, and only have >50$ electric bills, even in Mississippi's summer. We afford luxuries when we want to (65'' 3d tv ftw!) usually spend about 200$ a month on random things, get to go on vacations, and my wife, who makes 10$ an hour, and gets 600 dollar bonuses quarterly, doesnt even have her GED. Society doesnt know what you need. It only tells you what you think you need, and as long as you live like you need what society says you need, you will need what society says because otherwise you will think you are failing.

I'm not saying something like "You have to do your homework, even if you don't want to."

I never was good about doing my homework... video games distracted me too much...
Bill Gates would probably agree with you.
