So, let's talk Touhou!
For those who don't know, Touhou Project is a top-down shooter franchise with a couple of spinoffs, including fighting games.
The general premise is basically little girls shooting overpowered magic at each other. It sounds ridiculous, and well, it kind of is. But it's also ridiculously fun, and ridiculously hard.
The fans are also ridiculous, and put ridiculous amounts of time and money into making top-notch quality remixes (even recruiting vocalists), music videos, manga, and more, all of which are often sold to other fans at conventions. There's been a collection of over 3000 fanmade remixes online, and a music database for Touhou (Echo) claims roughly 6000, if that says anything!

But enough fanboying. Discuss!
How do you know about Touhou? How much do you follow it? Do you play the games? Any thoughts about the upcoming fighter TH13.5?

Most importantly, who's your favorite character?

Watch a lot of my friends play it. Only one I've really played was EoSD. Not much thoughts on the new game.

Yay Touhou!

The music remixes are pretty much the first thing I look for every comiket, and there are quite a few awesome ones.

Sadly I don't play a lot of touhou, only really noteworthy achievements I've done is 1cc all windows games on normal and clear extra on IN

Oh and even though I don't play the fighters, my favourite character is Tenshi

Waiting for 13.5. I've played Hisoutensoku the most. I don't really like the danmaku game, but i love fighting games.
Though, the danmaku game is not really that hard. Seriously. Try it yourself, it's easier than it look like.

Also, Fairy Wars. consistent 1CC there.

EDIT: also 1CC in 12.

Once upon a time I found a youtube channel with roughly ten thousand remixes. I listened to them all. It took a few months, but I can attest to there being far more remixes than that since then, because they were all mostly calm and relaxing remixes. I prefer the metal and techno remixes, though it's rarely actually techno. Just classified as such for simplicity's sake.

I've finished a few of the games on Normal, even though schmups aren't my favourite kind of genre. Beat'em'ups are though, so I'd like to try them with a friend some time. For the most part I'm a meta-fan, enjoying the music, art, lore and memes.
