I just thought a cheater could create like 10 accounts and use the oracle 10 times per day, thus having a chance to win nymphs far more quickly.. shouldn't it be IP based to prevent (in most cases) this type of cheating?

There's no trading, so I don't really see how that would be an issue...

Yes but if it's really so hard to find nymphs people getting one soon creating 100 accounts would have a considerable edge on regular starters..

If someone has the patience to make a hundred accounts and use them all every day to get a Nymph, I say he has deserved one.

Agreed. I'm assuming the chance to get a Nymph from the Oracle is lower than the chance to get any other card, and there are quite a few cards in the game. Intentionally grinding once per day using a lot of accounts for the Nymph is very, very inefficient, and whoever wants to put their time and effort in trying to find a living canary in a coal mine like this is quite dedicated.

Although it's been said, many times, many ways, this idea is great. My planning is this: normal electrum reward is anywhere from 0 to 60 electrum, "extra" electrum range is from 90 to 150, and winning a Nymph has a very slim chance.

I think it should be based on the card you draw, basically you win the cost of the card in Electrum.

Maybe if you want to be really nice to us, have a 4% chance of drawing an upgraded card (and winning the cost of the upgraded card), and let all cards -- including nymphs -- have the same chance of being drawn.  Seriously, there are nearly 150 cards (not counting upgrades) in the game, so even if you have 12 Nymphs in that 150, it's less than 10% that you'll get a Nymph, much less a specific Nymph.

Or, if you want them to be ultrarare, combine the ideas of the upgraded card at 4% with the all-cards-at-equal probability, but you only actually win a Nymph if you draw the upgraded version.  That's a .4% chance per day of winning a Nymph at all, much less the one you're actually hoping for.  At that rate, it would take 125 days -- a third of a year -- to be statistically likely to have won a single Nymph.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

I don't like waiting 125 days just to get a card... Perhaps there could also be 2 special cards, one called good fortune and one called bad luck, which would slightly increase/decrease your changes of winning the coin toss for that day (Thinking something small, maybe 5-10% extra chance).

The idea is great, you need to drink more coffee ;D
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

I think that if we use Essence's second idea, then Nymphs should be winable in the Spins in everything EXCEPT Top 50 matches. That way, they'd at least be able to circulate a little bit.

I already thought about the chance of people creating hundreds of accounts trying to get a nymph. It is not really a big deal because:

The oracle will be available only after the "defeat a level 1 elemental" quest is completed.
This should make manually creating accounts just to get a nymph quite a waste of time.

Someone could try to alter the account data with a script in the attempt to get extra oracle visits, quest completed, or nymphs, but the database would delete corrupted accounts anyway.

Let's see... how about this system.

If your fortune for the day is a card available at the Bazaar, you receive 2/3 of the gold that it would normally cost.
If your fortune for the day is a rare card, you receive 100 for a Weapon, 120 for a Creature, and 140 for a Spell.
If your fortune for the day is a nymph, you keep it.

And I can help write fortunes. If anyone needs me to.
