Maybe it's a virus that infects only respiratory system, or only circulatory system. When eaten it's 'disarmed' by the gastric acid before it is absorbed.

Or maybe, the viruses are actually made out of Hamburger meat, so they will infect you when raw, but Otyughs cook them, then eat them. I'd say that's the most logical answer...

Haha!  Make it so that if a poisonous creature is struck by a Fire Bolt (and doesn't die) it loses its poisonous status.   :)) :P

As the Master of Water, I have to correct this misapprehension.  Chrysaora and Physalia are, in fact, Jellyfish, not oysters/clams/scallops or whatever too many people mistake them to be.

For proof, type either name into Google and click on the Images link up top.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Wow, thanks Essence i never would've known that - they always looked like oysters to me! I guess it makes sense a jellyfish would leave a lasting sting on you more than an oyster.... I'm just going to continue pretending its an oyster; cooked jellyfish? Yuck.

From my perspective it looked like some water plant, similar to lotus flower or something... maybe because of these petals on it's head.
