Looking back at my earlier post, I'd have to recant that. Longsword is OP. The upgrade gives more than the +2 bonus that most upgrades provide.

Flesh spider is probably UP. 3|3 +duo cost web for 3 :underworld is UP. A flesh recluse has 6atk (5 cost) + 3hp (0 cost) + duo cost web (<1) + Upgrade bonus (-2) for 3 :underworld.

I am pretty sure that short sword is balanced 3atk (3 cost) + weapon slot (-2 cost), so giving it a +3 bonus when upgraded makes it OP.

Worth noting that Longsword is a weapon and requires +1 card to spam multiples as opposed to Spider, which has the freedom to play multiple copies from the get-go.

I think you're forgetting to factor in Weapon Slots and Fractal/Mitosis potential.
