Since playing an upped pendulum creates a quantum matching the existing stack's current alternation, I can see holding these one turn in your hand to burst quanta of one type.  Say you're running life/water - if you play the pendulum when life is up, but you need more water, you end up one total quantum better overall, but one less water quantum and two extra life.

No, playing an upped Pendulum adds one quantum of the Pendulum's type when it comes into play, regardless of the stack's current orientation (i.e. a Time Pendulum will produce :time when it comes into play if the stack is set to :entropy).

Hm, thought someone said the opposite.  OK then.

(I think it should match the stack!)

but that's the idea of having different 'colour' pendulums, instead of just other type ones

What they were saying (I think) is if you have an  :aether pendulum with  :airmark then when you play the (upped) pendulum, you will always get the 1  :aether for playing it, but if at the end of the turn, your pendulum stack was on  :air then your pendulum that you just laid wont create  :aether at the end of the round, it will create  :air .

So you get the quanta you normally would for just playing it, BUT whatever the stack is currently on is what it will produce at the end of the turn

When upgraded, they Pendulum will always make the quantum of its original element when played, so a Time Pendulum will always make :time.  This is regardless of whether or not it is producing your mark's quanta that turn.

Will they cost the same as pillars or more?

Fractal decks are going to have a blast now.

Will the resulting nymph change when the mark on Pendulums shift? Or always produce the nymph of the type of Pendulums?

That's a good question ...

I suppose it should be:
- you have a :gravity pendulum with a :water mark (because you need these water quanta to play the nymph)
- you play nymph tears (now 6 :water when upped, yeah)
- the pendulum turns into a :gravity nymph (and you can play black hole with the gravity quanta you accumulate from the start)
I think "Nymph tears" is the card that benefit the most from the 1.25 version.

I just wonder when it will come "in game" ... (I mean, not only in the trainer)

Wow, these are going to add a lot of great subtlety for deckbuilders. Great to see things getting shaken up a bit.  :)
