- A deck may use an unlimited number of common cards. For each slot players may use up to 3 cards of that rarity or less in their deck.
Let's say we have Alice & Bob who played each other in Round 1. Alice went 3-2 against Bob
Alice has three choices:
A) Upgrade 3 slots to uncommon
B) Upgrade 2 slots to uncommon, & then one of her uncommon slots to rare
C) Upgrade 1 slot to uncommon, & then upgrade it to rare, & then upgrade it to shard
In scenario A, Alice may now run decks using up to 9 uncommon cards
In scenario B, Alice may now run decks using up to 3 rares / 3 uncommon, or 2 rares / 4 uncommon, or 1 rare / 5 uncommon, or 6 uncommons
In scenario C, Alice may now run decks with up to 3 cards being mixed between uncommon/rare/shard
& of course Alice may decide that common cards are great & go ahead running 2 uncommon cards in her deck & the rest common, or all common, etc
