Title: Yu-gi-oh
Post by: ddevans96 on June 18, 2010, 06:00:59 pm
I've seen a lot of people here talk about Yu-gi-oh, and I myself am a fan, so I decided to create a topic for it. Here you can talk about all things Yu-gi-oh!.

anime was horrible, they cheat so much

well I actually do still play yu-gi-oh, well more like I kept my deck its actually a pretty good deck and I have gotten a creature with more than 10000 power yet it still didn't kill my opponent instantly

I've been looking for my deck. I have some pretty good cards too.Chaos Sorcerer, Hyozanryu, Airknight Parashath, Dark Necrofear, and Deepsea Warrior were my five favorite card. I also have both the Battle City Disk and the Chaos Disk.

I have the battle city disk but the chaos one (or whatever its called) looks much cooler, however it is a hard fit

yeah I gave most of my cards to my friend and now he plays the game also (you just lost the game) he even has a 'legal' obelisk the tormentor

but yeah my deck is a dragon-themed deck notable cards: Blue Eyes, Armed dragon lvl 5 (good effect+ good damage), Paladin of White Dragon(insane ability) and of course; Red eyes Darkness dragon (Insanely awesome card)

My usual deck was a Chaos Deck with Light and Dark monsters to bring out Chaos Sorcerer. My cousin in Illinois had a lot of the original card, including Black Luster Ritual and Dark Magician. His deck was amazing.

I loved my deck, it made the opponent completely doomed with my strategy.

I use 3 Xing Zhen Hu trap cards. The effect is "Activate by selecting 2 Set Spell or Trap Cards on the field. The selected Spell or Trap Cards cannot be activated"

So using three of those make it so that your opponent can not use any spells/traps (when you play it right) combined with a ground collapse, and ojama king. Then the opponent can not play any spell/trap or monster card. WIN!
Oh yeah, and I stalled massively using a combination of  man eater bugs, nights assailents (both kill the opponent instantly when flipped) and Chaos sorcerers. It was pretty awesome.

My favorite INSTANT KLL combo was using chaos sorcerers to remove my opponents creatures, when they get a one up let them attack me, use inferno tempest (when I recieve i believe its 2000 damage to my lifepoints, all monsters in both players decks and graveyards are removed from play) and then play gren maju de eiza, which gains 400 atk and def for each of my monsters removed from play. And id have a rush recklassly to power up my opponents monsters enough for them to do the damage that to activate my inferno tempest

I. DON'T USE SYNCHRO. I'm sorry, I think 5D's ruined the series.

Yugioh has moved on year after year but with each additional pack select old cards become better and better.
Certain cards will never lose their ban worth power. (I'm looking at you Chaos End Dragon)

I still have my good old reckless burn deck, a newish zombie world zombie deck and a weird deck
The weird deck is based around a Flintlock x2, Flint, Morale Boost creating infinite life and then letting my opponent deck themselves out while I survived by discarding Sword of the Deep-Seated at the end of each turn.

Also can anyone explain what the Sychro monsters are meant to be? Fusions were hybrid creatures but Sychros don't seem to represent anything.

Ive watched the tv series 5ds, and I didnt see anything that my decks couldnt still annialate. If anyhing, the cards seem weaker in  5ds than anything else.

Synchros are...weird. See here: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Synchro I find them pointless

I stopped get Trading Cards after the Destiny Heroes from Yugioh GX came out :/

I agree. I know their mechanics but I do not understand what type of monster they are meant to represent.

Please dont call it anime, its a shame. Yu-gi-oh will be chewed through again and again. Its something annoying you cant kill....
Wring "Yu-gi-oh" out and you will gain the pure essence of commerce. The "anime" hasnt a good story or story at all and is out of touch with reality.
One of the best animes there are: Death Note
One of the best card games: Elements  ;)   (and skat, although its a different "genre")

honestly, the last episode i viewed was around when it first came out, after i saw them do that happyface hand thing, i just quit. i dont know if any of the other seasons are any good, but i dont want to risk it. the card game is good, i like it. im currently running a wicked great machina deck. it swarms a lot faster than my six sam deck, and my six sam deck is built to swarm :P.

Yeah Bleach,Naruto and so on... are good, but they all have 2 diseases named infinite-filler-illness and slow-story-illnes...
If you watch Death Note your brain needs to be at an all time-high otherwise you dont understand the complex thinking of all the persons and the complex conflicts.

Sorry, I didnt want to bother you, but some people before me said similar things so I "couldnt resist" or rather thought its okay.

They really love making a bunch of useless cards ;D
e.g. 0 attack 0 defense monster with no effect

Instead of the "anime" watch the abridged version. It's much better. Now featuring Ancient Egyptian Laser Beams!

Or watch Gurren Lagann, but that's for another thread.

Screw the rules, I have green hair!

Yeah, I love the abridged series. I want him to abridge the Waking the Dragons arc XD
