Because it's so wonderfully creepy that someone would store up tears so that when they needed a hand, they'd use them and ~poof~ instant concerned friend; willing to help.
...that is possibly the best explanation I've ever heard for why someone chose a card art's avatar.

Just changed, what do you guys think? =)
O_O Babies? ...
Anyway, I have two reasons for what inspired my avatar (aside from my love of

):
The first was the fact that at home, I ACTUALLY have an hourglass that occasionally 'stops' even when I turn it upright. The sand gets stuck in the middle, and usually I have to tap (or slam) it in order for it to work again, and sometimes I wish that it was a magical object that could actually stop time when the sand miraculously stopped.
Secondly, the broken hourglass is sort of a symbol I relate to my imagination. Goals and aspirations are things you plan on doing in the future, but a
real dream has no actual 'place' in the time stream.
Thus, the sand spilling out represents how the imagination often causes a person to break outside of reality away from the continuum of time, which can be both relieving and detrimental, depending on what the fantasy is.
