LMAO.

Okay, nicely done...

EDIT: I chose Bismuth because of its usefulness in the alloys that are used to reduce need for lead-based products (lead is considered by many to be significantly toxic), not to mention its crystallized (oxidized) structures are one of the most beautiful things I've seen (up close and online, since it's actually safe to touch).

Plus, it has a cool symbolism that I connect with now that I read up on its other attributes.  :D

Wow.  Cool.  I didn't expect such a sincere and informative response.  Thank you.

I chose Silicon because it is used to make the microchips that power my computer.  And that is much more important than even Oxygen.   ;)

I have to say Technetium. It was the first synthetic element, it can be used in nuclear medicine and fission, and it looks and sounds cool.

That reminds me of science class in middle school.  We had to pick an element and then draw a model, and of course I picked Technetium because it sounded cool.  But that was before I had to draw 100+ sub-atomic particles!

On another note, looks like Oxygen and Arsenic are in the lead.  Seems Elements players are all about  :life and  :death.  :P
