I remember the good old days on these forums when people quit without making a big deal out of it. They just left. Unfortunately the current trend seems to be that quitting the forums is such a big deal that it requires its own dramatic topic, sometimes even in the general Elements discussion section of the forums, like them leaving is somehow related to the game itself.
While some of these topics are nothing more than honest farewell topics, others have been used for things like getting back to people you hate, or plain seeking attention. Worst part is that many of these people who posted their farewell topics, haven't even left! Instead of "farewell" topics, they are more like "not that active anymore" topics. The latter is not needed because huge majority of the forum don't really need constant updates on the current activity of some other forum member.
I've been waiting for the situation to improve but it hasn't. In fact it has gotten worse, because now we have less known forum members starting to copy what the veterans are doing. It's starting to become drama-inducing spam, so new rules have been made.
From now on, if you must start a farewell topic, please use this section:
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,393.0.html . Everyone can view it, but only Full Members and above can start a topic. Why? Because if nobody knows you, there's no point in starting a farewell topic.
Farewell topics posted elsewhere will be moved to that section. Farewell topics posted by non-Full Members will be removed as spam.
Thank you and have a nice day.
