I think the issue is between people who don't want advertisements and people who partially support themselves with advertisements.

The solution here, I think, is that certain websites and Adblock come to an agreement where Adblock doesn't work on those sites. Youtube being the most notable one of these. That way, those virus-infected ads are removed from normal sites and Youtubers & others can continue making money from their ads.

That may not happen and the internet could dissolve into chaos, but there's probably a moderately OK medium between those two extremes.

There will always be people trying to get something for free....

In my opinion, adds before videos should be only 5 seconds long and directly to the point.... nobody watches 30 second adds even if they don't have add blocker.

Anywho, I don't really care if people use AdBlock. I don't think it should be used on small websites like Elements or other small websites because of how it can cripple small companies, but if you want to use AdBlock to circumvent YouTube commercials and such, I don't really care. If it really becomes damaging to YouTube or Google or other big companies, then they have ways of blocking AdBlock, and they will.

Beef, Youtube isn't usually the ones gaining money from the advertisements. Youtube pays channel creators money based on their viewcount & the ads that they show. That's the demographic that is and will be most affected by Adblock.

Ah, is it? That I did not know. I would assume a lot of people who use AdBlock are also ignorant to that fact. I've never used adblock, but after knowing that I'm damaging YouTubers, I wouldn't use it anymore. Rather, I wouldn't on YouTube.
