Several people asked me to start a thread where I can share my knowledge and help answer questions so I am!

About me:  I'm a senior biochemistry major at Oakland University in Rochester, MI and I work in the testing lab part-time for Plymouth Technology.  I'm also taking graduate level courses in polymers so anything chemistry, biochemistry, polymers, and to a certain extent biology related I can help out with.

I'll also post random information from time to time about stuff I'm learning.  I'll kick this off by starting a list of important chemical equations you need to know for chemistry.

Important Formulas
Boyle's Law (also commonly known as the Ideal Gas Law)
PV = nRT
P represents the pressure of the gas
V represents the volume of the container the gas is enclosed in
n represents the quantity of gas particles present in moles
R represents the Ideal Gas Constast
T represents the temperature of the gas in Kelvin
Important Constants
Ideal Gas Constant
R = 8.314472 J/mol*K
R = 0.08257 L*atm/mol*K
Carpe Diem!!

Awesome. Now if we could just have the information for what the variables stand for, it would be very much appreciated.

+Karma. I'm sure this will be a success.

Nice, I  am a second year student at bio-pharmaceutical sciences, so I might drop some questions on you when I'm stuck with some assignment or something, if you don't mind that is :D
*Btw failed a biochemistry practical course so I might need your expertise

all gases so far?
no wonder you got +karma from Hyroen
this will be helpful to me however, almost failed chemistry last year...

*pls fix*

Well, not unrelated to chemistry is a question that's bugging me since a long time: What is the molecular structure of a black hole?
As far as I heard, a neutron star has its atoms packed so closely together that you could call the whole planet one big fat atom. So in a black hole those things would have to be packed even closer and all I could think of would be a munchy soup of quarks, though the density wouldn't increase that much to reach an infinite hight.

Do you have any theory that could somewhat explain an infinite density?

*Completely ignoring the question above me since I have no idea about that subject. ( I think nobody knows the answer yet)*

Do you know what the role of Ca 2+ in the ligand receptor interaction is?
For example the LDL/galactose interaction with its receptor. I only know it has some sort of bridge function, but the mechanism?
