Stairway To Heaven, hidden message or not?

The Beatles and a few other bands played around with backmasking for a laugh. I didn't hear anything recognizable in Stairway to Heaven. The fear that subliminal messages can control you is complete bs. Backwards messages have zero effect.

I am  huge Zep fan and have been wondering many things. Is the backwards song really a message? or an accident.The backwards version of the song, I do not think it's satanic BUT, does have a message perhaps. This version talks of two paths, words having two meanings, and liftening hard to find the tune. The backwards version talks of a sad path and one part saying "god please save me". Very peculiar. It makes me wonder Both versions talk of paths and there are many references of double meanings in the original song.

If it was ever intended (which is possible; I have no idea how likely it was) it's extremely interesting for artistic effect. And either way, it's a beautiful song.

The hysteria and controversy that surrounded it was a little odd, though. Frankly I doubt that Led Zep were a satanist cult out to indoctrinate children to the ways of their dark master. These were probably the same people that believe that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced with a look/sound-alike.

The Beatles did a backwards guitar bit (in "I'm only sleeping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27m_Only_Sleeping)"), though that's not exactly hidden.
Pink Floyd have some backwards vocals on one of the songs on The Wall, "Empty Spaces (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empty_Spaces)".

I highly doubt Led Zeppelin did anything like that, intentionally at least, on Stairway to Heaven.
