My aunt has passed away. It leaves everyone around us with a strange and unspeakable mixture of relief and sorrow -- she was suffering so badly that it was clear she wanted to go. It's struck me as particularly strange in the past month how, when an animal is irrecoverably suffering, we call it 'humane' to put it down, but when a human is in the same state, we have a perverse urge to keep them alive as long as possible, no matter how hellish their quality of life is.
But that's enough maudlin philosophy from me. In board business, I doubt I'll run for Master of Water again. New blood is good; I'll be happy with my position as PVP Organizer and 'highest non-Administrator Karma holder'. Maybe at some point I'll run for Council member, though.
