Well, there are quite a few people on here who are good with computers, and ours is having a rather unique problem. Is there anyone willing and able to (try to) answer a couple questions about a Windows Vista computer?

Unless you are trying to hide some child porn why don't you just post the problem your having and then people will know if they can help?   ;)

Sorry, I was in a hurry earlier ;) Anyway, when the computer starts in the morning, the monitor doesn't wake up. Half an hour to an hour later, it does, until this morning, during which it stayed "asleep" for multiple hours. We unplugged everything in the monitor, and it didn't wake up right away, but about half an hour later it did. When the monitor is behind and "asleep" it's got a black screen, and is completely unresponsive. Any ideas?

I'm no expert, but I have a few questions to help troubleshoot.

Is it an old-style CRT monitor or a "flat" LCD?  Better yet, what brand and model # is it?
Do you have access to another monitor to plug the computer in and see what happens?

It's a "flat" LCD. Well, It says Samsung on the casing just below the screen, and on the upper left casing it says SyncMaster 941BW, is that what you're looking for?

Probably not.

Yeah, that's the brand and model (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SyncMaster-941BW-19-inch-Monitor/dp/B000JKERJG).  Couldn't find people posting similar issues on Google.

The reason why I asked about another monitor is because the issue could be with the monitor or video card on the computer.  I once installed a new video card that caused the computer to blank out for 5 minutes each time it loaded.  Do you have other ports on the computer you can plug it into?  (An onboard card vs. an aftermarket one)

Well, my mom decided she wanted to get a couple more things done before messing around with stuff, in case the computer wouldn't turn on, so thank you for helping so far, and I'll(probably) pick this back up in a day or two.
